Liverpool recording studio owner Melvin Lyons’ musical life stared at school when he first picked up a mic and turned his poetry into rapping. Back then, as today, he was crazy for anything hip-hop related. No special effects just a tape deck and speakers.

Melvin Lyons has spent time in various bands over the years. The most successful was probably a hip-hop rock band called NCM, who played a lot of festivals and got a nice write up in the NME magazine. Once Melvin hung up his mic, his love for music kept him in the game on a different level, and so Bling Studios was born. Having always been to other people's studios, he felt he could make a studio with a real ethos of respect and still make hardcore, professional sounding music

Melvin Lyons has worked on a great deal of projects with artists from all over the place and his passion for music and all the things surrounding music is undiminished.

Based in Liverpool, Bling Records is a community-focused resource run by artists for artists...and anyone wanting to express their creativity. The Liverpool studio focuses on three main areas; Digital Recording Studio, Music Technology Courses for everybody, and Video Production. Liverpool’s Bling Studios actively promotes the production and presentation of music. Their education and studio programmes are developed to overlap and integrate with each other in order to provide a dynamic context for the production of new work and the creation of access to and participation in music production.
