Industry Judge
Stuart Epps' musical career began in 1967 as a 15-year old office junior at Dick James Music. He quickly moved up the industry ladder to become Chief Engineer at DJM Studios, and then later toured the USA with Elton John as personal assistant.
Stuart was involved from the start when Elton's producer, the late Gus Dudgeon, built The Mill Studios on the banks of the Thames, near Maidenhead. It was not long before Dudgeon asked Epps to become Chief Engineer, Studio Manager and Producer. When Jimmy Page bought the mill in 1980 Stuart became his engineer and worked on the Led Zeppelin album Coda with Jimmy on The Deathwish 2 soundtrack and with Paul Rogers when he formed The Firm. At this time he also worked with George Harrision, Bill Wyman and produced and had hits with Twisted Sister and Vandenberg.
