Singing competition winner 2011
The Open Mic UK 2011 national singing competition Grand Final! Winners competed in the singing competition singing at The O2 in front of a massive crowd. Singing competition winners were announced at The O2 at the Open Mic National Grand Final. The best unsigned singers and rappers from across the UK, turned out for the singing competition and compete to be winners of the title, and what a day it was!
Acts took to the stage at the Indig02 in London in front of a packed out crowd and judging panel that included Radio 1's Annie Nightingale, BGM’s Michael King, Future Music’s Chris Grayston, Flavour magazine writer Semper Azeez-Harris, E Plus from Choice FM, Pete Cunnah, Shola Ama and Ben Price from Future Music.
In order to win Open Mic UK singing competition acts needed to be in the top 3 judges’ scores in their age category. Those acts not in the highest judges’ scores were eliminated before counting the audience texts votes. The acts in the judges’ top 3; their scores were ranked and added to the audience text voting, which was also ranked. The acts with the combined highest ranking from audience and judges votes were announced as the singing competition winners in each category.
Acts battled it out live on stage for the title, congratulations to the winners and all who took part.

Flavour Magazine award the award to an act of the Urban, Pop genre as selected by Flavour magazine writer Semper Azeez-Harris, who said the outstanding act and winner for our award is Shakwho win a comprehensive package which includes coverage on the website, a double page feature in the magazine and TV interview.
Exposure Award winner Caroline Eve wins recording studio time in a recording studio of their choice worth up to £500. This award was for the act that achieved the largest quantity of submitted publicitymaterial.
Extreme exposure Award winner Karla Bernardi wins recording studio time in a recording studio of their choice worth up to £500. The award was given to the act that achieved the most ‘high profile’ publicity material.
MUZU exposure Award The overall winner Beth Penrose (from Truro)achieved the most views on MUZU.TV for their Open Mic UK filmed footage and has won an exclusive all expenses paid trip to Dublin to make a music video in the MUZU.TV studio.
Nick D’Souza (from Stanwell) and Paige (from Fauldhousein Scotland) were runners up and won promotional prizes on the MUZUsite with an equivalent value up to €5000.
