Open Mic UK: North East Area final - results from the live show!
Auditions and shows for the largest music talent competition for singers and solo artists, Open Mic UK are all complete for this year .
The last area final for 2010 being the North East England area final were held on Saturday 11th December at the Dewsbury Town Hall. The area final brought together the best unsigned acts from across the North East with the regional winners from Newcastle, Sheffield and Cleakheaton all competing in a bid to make it to the grand final at the O2 in London.
The competition was fierce, and the standard was extremely high, well done to all the acts for putting on a great show!
With so much talent it was difficult to make a choice, but well done to the following acts who will be performing at our grand final on 15th January at the O2.

ExposureAward–There will be an award for the act with the largest quantity of submitted publicity material in relation to the competition. The act with the most press cuttings, copies of publicity on websites or recorded radio interviews on each Area final day will win a free day in the recording studio of their choice worth £250. This goes to; Olivia Coe.
Extreme exposureAward – This award is given to the act that achieves (what will be considered) the most ‘high profile’ publicity material and/or stunt in each Region. This is considered the most effective type of publicity – a large or ‘high profile’ organisation publicising your act in the competition enables a wider exposure for you. The overall winner who achieves what is considered the most ‘high profile’ publicity will be awarded a prize by Extreme, the UK's Leading Sports and leisure Specialist, with a prize of up to £300 in Extreme clothing of your choice.This goes to; Ashley "Bash" Pridgeon.
