Judges Feedback From The Hayes Live Show – 18 – 25 Category
This weekend the judges were in Hayes! Thousands of acts entered Open Mic UK this year and some of the best unsigned acts in the country took to the stage at the Beck Theatre in Hayes on 19.9.10. Here the judges give us some feedback from the event, but remember, it could all change at the Area Finals!

Judges at Hayes included; Aimee McGoldrick from Hayes FM, Steve Anunab from The Way Studio, Anita McDonald from Vivace Music Company and Future Music’s Chris Grayston.
18 – 25 Feedback;
Crucial Blue; Chris; watch mic control need to learn technique. Great guitar player very comfortable. Anita; some soulful singing. Aimee; watch your mic technique.
Nadine Bico; Steve; powerful voice but would like to hear more dynamics. Chris; Good start but needs to keep the intensity up for the whole track.
Ocean; Aimee; a strong original which was coordinated well. Anita; very witty and enjoyable performance. Chris; Original was strong need to bring together an energy off stage too!
Victoria Clark; Chris; Poor song choice struggled on the high notes and expressing the passion of the song. Aimee; energy lacking. Steve; confident stage presence.
Double Dragon; Chris; bit messy at times need to express a clear hook line in the first track. Aimee; bit irratic and I didn’t really know where to look! Steve; energetic.
Emily Mulholland; Anita; lyrics well communicated. Aimee; an emotional performance. Chris; Good expression and engaged well with the audience.
James Brown; Chris; good cover into a strong original falling fast slight change in dynamics of the chorus could make it even better. Steve; nice voice but may be lacking charisma
Lakesha Cammock; Chris; Picked a good cover song and made it her own. Anita; I really liked the original interpretation of this song.
Leela Thompson; Steve; Fantastic originality and strong performance. Aimee; guitar was a bit loud. Chris; Had a good image.
Monika; Chris; Nice tone to the voice but it’s all a bit on one level so perhaps develop dynamics a little more to make it more interesting. Steve; tender song but needs to open eyes more. Aimee; nice voice
Nadia; Chris; Very infectious smile worked the stage well. Backing singer with lead was sweet. Anita; good enthusiasm of lyrics. Steve; owned the stage
Scarlet & Ruby; Aimee; remember your audience and don’t be nervous. Chris; Watch timing the track seemed to slow and quicken at times. Image is dull. Steve; enjoyed the performance just needs a bit more practice.
Slick.R; Chris; Crafted well on stage. Maybe something to make him stand out image wise would be good. Aimee; likeable personality and polished performance. Anita; polished performance well done
ST.Innocent; Chris; Confident performance. Make sure give space to all the lyrics little crowded in places. Steve; intense performance. Anita; excellent interaction with the audience and judges.
Sweet Ambition; Aimee; good song writing. Chris; Original was great sung with real passion. Anita; a very measured performance.
Tino Mavimba; Chris; Nice and comfortable on stage but vocals didn’t quite ignite the stage and song. Anita; arrangement could have been better. Steve; needs more upbeat song.
Tony T; Chris; Nice lyrics to original. Steve; man with a message keep it going. Aimee; loved the lyrics of the original and preferred it to the cover.
Venessa Brown; Anita; good image. Chris; stage craft was non existent purpose and passion!!
Ms Bashy; Steve; star quality, needs good image and production. Chris; Image and engagement from the start. Aimee; used the stage well.
Emily Snowdown; Chris; Cover was conveyed strongly. Anita; a measured performance. Aimee; a shy performance, needs more confidence.
