Judges Feedback From The Hayes Live Show – Over 25′s Category

This weekend the judges were in Hayes! Thousands of acts entered Open Mic UK this year and some of the best unsigned acts in the country took to the stage at the Beck Theatre in Hayes on 19.9.10. Here the judges give us some feedback from the event, but remember, it could all change at the Area Finals!

Judges at Hayes included; Aimee McGoldrick from Hayes FM, Steve Anunab from The Way Studio, Anita McDonald from Vivace Music Company and Future Music’s Chris Grayston.

Over 25 Feedback;

Andy Smith; Chris; very polished vocal but perhaps needing a unique edge. Aimee; good opening act. Steve; entertaining and different.

Amadis; Steve; Energetic and original. Anita; interesting! Chris; Prince cover wasn’t the best choice as didn’t fit his range sounded way too high.

Arcane; Chris; Try and relax when performing. Steve; intense but lacked charisma on stage. Aimee; energetic.

Bliss; Chris; local sisters strong worked well together. Anita; liked their first song. Steve; nice harmonies.

D-Edge; Chris; Interesting image. Aimee; interesting performance! Anita; very brave and unusual combination

Empress; Chris; Need to perform or at least not look awkward during the transition of songs to help make it link more professionally. Strong original liked the reggae beat. Steve; own song lacking chorus.

Lejaune; Aimee; open your eyes when performing but liked the guitar playing. Chris; projection was way too weak need to project much stronger very quiet. Anita; loved some of the harmonies.

OMS; Chris; confident performance. Steve; long verses but nice to hear him sing.

Patrick Haines; Aimee; Interesting choice of song! Steve; some tuning issues. Anita; nice to see someone playing the guitar with strong vocals.

Tom Rogers; Chris; Good cover choice much stronger performance than the original. Steve; original artist. Anita; needs to keep eyes open

Polaris Condition; Aimee; good audience engagement. Chris; great image and got the audience going with their own original

RafiMo; Steve; bemused Chris; didn’t feel the intensity the song needed. Aimee; I like your hat

Toby Chiz; Chris; well structured song with strong lyrics. Backed up with a good performance of the cover. Anita; effortless instumental Steve; good performance but difficult to place in the market

2 Badda; Chris; this guy could win it very original and authentic best urban act we’ve seen so far this year! Aimee; confident performance Steve; owned the stage but the song was weak on production

Poetic Justin; Anita; very interesting act. Steve; nice voice Aimee; cover started wobbly but a good mover 

Talia Smith; Chris; image went well with song choice remember to use the stage and engage with the audience more intensely. Anita; nice image. Steve; not that inspiring
