Judges Feedback From The Aldershot Live Show, 18 - 25's Category
This weekend the judges were in Aldershot! Thousands of acts entered Open Mic UK this year and some of the best unsigned acts in the country took to the stage at the Princes Hall on 17.10.10 Here the judges give us some feedback from the event, but remember, it could all change at the Area Finals!

Judges at Aldershot included Stuart Slater from Rock School, Peter Moody, Sam Enser from Rock Choir and musician Joe Karshud
18-25's;
Ottavio Columbro; First act of the show! You settled into a controlled and composed performance with some great high register pitching and sustained note control. Perhaps greater consideration to image? Great potential here….
MCX; Very energetic and took control of the stage! Great sense of time and rhythmic delivery but not too much variation within the styles.
Bricks Build Houses; Some nice harmony work here and you look comfortable as a duo but small slips detracted delivery. Watch mic technique.
Caz Turner-Gould; You won over the crowd, and delivered with confidence. Achieving crowd participation made a big impact (only time today!). Small slips, but a great overall performance.
Jason Dollery; Good musicianship and performance, but unclear vocal delivery detracted overall performance unfortunately.
Kayleigh King; Lovely tones and real attention to style, but pitching issues here. Confident and composed at a steady tempo. With further training, could be great!
Kerri Louise Veck; Unique performance, almost theatre. A memorable delivery.
Kristin Graham; Technically good and looked pretty comfortable in the main. Needs to connect much more though with the chosen song.
Keetley; Pitching issues initially but nice emotion to the performances. Quite a good performance overall but just short to go through. Really close this one.
Lawrence Kazinsky; Comfortable on a number of levels but needs an edge. Also - try to relax a little!
Libby C-H; A bit raunchy for 5.30 in the afternoon, but a promising act. Used stage light triggers to good effect but vocally took a little while to steady. Delivery and song choice not as commanding in second half.
The Spectre; A very entertaining performance, in many ways standing out from others in the show.
Sam Hutton; You have a good voice, and generally use it well, but some lost notes which did detract. Nice guitar work with welcome dynamics changes for the style. You would benefit from greater attention to the overall performance.
Parallel; A controlled opening with some drama and interesting image but some mispitches and overall would have benefited from a greater connection and engagement with the song. First half really good.
Shanisa Emmons; The most comfortable looking act on stage (really cool!) but the song dragged a little and did not permit a full vocal demonstration. This could have been really strong. Split the judges opinion right down the middle!
Teresa De Roberta; Good vibrato and overall vocal technique. The only classical artist for a while who gave attention to overall performance. Deserves to go through…
Nicholas Howe; Visually a good balance on stage with the three spread across the stage. Not technically the strongest tonight, but filled the room with a great performance. Very good here!
Lauren Casey; A lot of fans in the crowd tonight! Deserves to go through with a strong performance Needs a ‘wow!’ factor.
