Judges Feedback From The Ipswich Live Show, Over 25's

This weekend the judges were in Ipswich! Thousands of acts entered Open Mic UK this year and some of the best unsigned acts in the country took to the stage at the Corn Exchange on 23.10.10 Here the judges give us some feedback from the event, but remember, it could all change at the Area Finals!

Please note: views expressed by Judges are opinions and in no way reflect the views of Open Mic UK.

Judges at Ipswich included Jenny Lock from Love Music 24, Rupert Matthews, Han Roberts, Steve Hawthorne, Libby Williamson, Jennie Cassidy

Over 25's;

Osiris: More performance than substance. Loved the performance, got a bit bored with the track and lead singer got very breathless towards the end. Too long!! Do an edit.

Peter Hepworth: Made the cover his own..nice tone to voice but needs work.

Angela Parker: Nice original, although a bit repetitive. Would have stuck with the acoustic guitar for the cover.Needed to enjoy the performance more.

Simon Kindleysides: Liking the belt and image. Needs to watch the pitch control at times.

Gemma Dietrich:  Nice start on the floor and good choice of song. High notes seemed to take a lot out of her. Good use of stage.

Fixater: Need to engage with audience, timing on vocals.Bit of dance would help presentation.

Darren Smith: Bit mechanical, let the performance flow. Don’t over look  the audience. Bit of a cheesy performance.

Just Soll: Set up on stage all bunched up to the left. Chemistry on stage could improve. Good strong voice.

Louise Collins: Liked the start with cover, not sure about the vocal tracking on the loop pedal. Great voice and great effects.

Nomis: It’s like they are performing different tracks, need to film themselves and watch what they are doing. Didn't need accompaniment from someone else.

Sarah Louise: All a bit dated. Image, song and style, bring into 21st century. Lots of confidence.

Reb Capper: Bit like Tori Amos..great song! See that being a hit! Felt the passion conveyed!!!! Looked at piano a bit too much but very enjoyable.

Shawn Hutton: Powerful vocal, little lazy in the performance. Needs to look more interested in the performance.

Natasha Buckeridge: Too much head movement. Strong voice but dated song choice.

Slightly offensive Steve: Very talented, be great in a comedy club...a single? Great rap and very interesting performance.

Glen Crisp: Very smart image, in synch with song. Slightly one dimensional.
