Judges Feedback From The Cardiff Live Show, Over 25's Category

This weekend the judges were in Cardiff! Thousands of acts entered Open Mic UK this year and some of the best unsigned acts in the country took to the stage at the Corn Exchange on 24.10.10 Here the judges give us some feedback from the event, but remember, it could all change at the Area Finals!

Please note: views expressed by Judges are opinions and in no way reflect the views of Open Mic UK.

Judges at Cardiff included Lynn Marie Boudreau, Angela Durrant, singer/songwriter Simon Cooper, Dean Hill, Drum school's Stuart Slater and Total Star's David Stone

Over 25's;

Jay Cee; Good delivery, nice song but a bit limited in range.

Dai Roberts; Good vocals abd guitar skill, work on engaging more with the audience.

JD Kelly; Good song choice, perhaps start off quieter to create build in the song.

Jenny Frost; Lovely focused voice but try more breath when singing. Learn to work the stage and work on vocal range.

Kev Lee Roy; Good image, needs more self believe and originality - find yourself not a copy.

Laima; Great voice, engage more, fantastic image.

Leurve; Some harmonies didn't quite work, work on togetherness of the music.

Modz; The look was original but I missed a smile! Watch the power of your lower registers.

Nick B Byrne; Eeyes closed throughout the performance, need to work on that. Energised playing and singing, try ending each phrase more confidently.

Sarah Wilson-Blackwell; Dealt with technical hitch well. Good vocal skills and style, telling the story a bit more would be good.

The Amber Hour; Always face the audience, feel what each other are doing instead of having to look. Very good vocal technique.

Eliisa; Good powerful control and mic technique. Work on image

Natty German; Good sound and good choice of song, try more dynamics even on quieter song.

Alex Gear; Liked the cover. Work on image. Work on enjoyment of performance and audience interaction.

James Randell; Best song so far. Tell the story of the song and work with a music theatre coach if that's where you want to go. Make sure delivery is theatrical and not cabaret.

Cheryl Roberts; Different style, talented vocals, work on delivery and believe in yourself.

Ross Gurney; Strong clear vocals but eyes closed for most of performance. Maybe could do more with the guitar.
