Judges Feedback From The Manchester Live Show, Over 25's Category

This weekend the judges were in Manchester! Thousands of acts entered Open Mic UK this year and some of the best unsigned acts in the country took to the stage at the Willows on 24.10.10 Here the judges give us some feedback from the event, but remember, it could all change at the Area Finals!

Please note: views expressed by Judges are opinions and in no way reflect the views of Open Mic UK.

Judges at Manchester included Greg Morton, Jono Molloy, Gavin Ryder, Bob Young, Pete Bradshaw and Karen Corson.

Joe Gee; Quality voice wasted on two chord song. Acappella was a risky choice. Worked the stage, great beat box was a nice surprise.

Phia; Good image but needs backing track, good movement on stage, very good vocals and accapella. Confident stage performance.

Marie; Poor vocals. Good effort, need to work on vocals and performance.

Mirriam; Very poor vocals, needs vocal training, would again like to see more use of the stage. Watch mic control.

Tracey Owen; First song was a bad choice. Good vocal range.

Char; Vocals and musicality need work on. Would like to see more energy in the performance and open your eyes and combat the nerves.

Darren Higham; Good quality to voice. Energetic performer. Needs to make more effort with image.

Helen Rodgers; Musically sound. Fantastic performance and good image - would like to see more energy on stage and not just sitting on a keyboard the whole way through.

Gareth Evans; Started great, but vocals were flat. Unique style but vocals need work.

Jam@ine; Flat vocals which improved during performance. Crowd loved him, great presence on stage but could have made more effort with image.

Joey; I wasn't quite sure about the little boy on stage - needs to open eyes and move around the stage. Gain confidence.

Richie Syrett; Great voice, lose the specs. Good work with the guitar and harmonica.

Roy Bennett; Good voice, slightly boring performance, perhaps choose a more upbeat song. A few tuning issues on high notes.

Kathya; Why acapella? Would have benefitted from backing track in a big way.

Hilary Brownson-Hardman; Awesome performance. Good voice, but needs practice on vocal range.

Louise Allan; Good stage use, good energetic performer. A little cruise ship/cabaret but enjoyable.
