She made it to the final of one of the biggest music competitions in the country, Open Mic UK, and now Etta Smith is getting set to crack the industry.

The young star recently signed with Baby Girl Music, who have launched and developed the careers of many successful artists, including Pixie Lott.

The singer/songwriter from Darlington has been making waves with her quirky image, extraordinary vocals and fresh material. At just 17 years old, Etta has already produced a popular debut album, Real, and is working on a host of new material. Up coming tracks include Maybe, Free Falling and Finally - which have all received huge interest from the media.

Citing a number of influences including soul, 70's disco and Paolo Nutini, Etta's music boasts a healthy mixture of fresh pop beats and slow, melodic tracks. Each song is accompanied by her original piano playing and her relatable lyrics.

Etta was crowned runner up of last years Open Mic UK and she is now getting set to make another appearance in the competition. She will be performing at the Grand Final at the 02 in London on 15th January.
