Singing Contest London Feedback – 23 and over category
Eddie Sanchez – Great image but guitar playing let him down. Decent enough original song. A modern day male Tracy Chapman, there is potential there.
Green Eyes Theory – Up to the minute song but it lacked energy. A bit flat. Got better as it went along. Vocals need more projection. Lyrically very good.
Texflexx – Off tune too often. He looks the part but the singing wasn’t up the mark. A bit old-fashioned. A catchy tune and it was nice to hear some reggae in the competition.
Anara Sara – Shaky vocal start. Love the look. Good energetic backing track but needed to bring the same energy to the stage. A bit pitchy in places.
rODIUM – Amusing but lacked sparkle. The concept doesn’t work. No energy in the music or performance. Loved the dynamic changes and the beat boxing.
Sounds of Elle –Dancers needed to centre around her not with each other. It takes eyes away from her performance. A strong image. Very pop.
Gaya – Started slightly off key and struggled to adapt. Should have worked the stage Gaya stood in one place. Good vocal control over a tricky melody.
Jeannine Barry – Didn’t like the song choice but she nailed it vocally, and looked stunning. Lacked bite and the dancers looked bored.
James Jagger - Great interpretation of a great song, put his own spin on it. A Big song to take on. Playing an original not so good. Work on smoother chord changes.
Gloria Garcia – Big voice. Liked the performance of the original but Alicia Keys is a bit of a clichéd cover choice for a female keys player. Keyboard playing was pretty basic she would have been better served just using the backing track. Like the Spanish twist.
C-Reality – Good energy from the start. More chemistry needed between the two of them. Decent performance though.
Twig – Best original song of the show so far. Great stage presence. Might benefit from a 2ndvocalist in the chorus. Loved the cover choice although he adopted an American accent for it which was a shame. He didn’t really perform the cover it was backing track had vocals in it which was odd.
Jamie Wisker – Johnny Cash-esque. Voice felt a bit gimmicky. Liked him as a performer he had the audience on his side.
Sam Derrick - A very static performance. The song was rock but the performance was statuesque, you need to feel the song. Strong image.
Singing Contest London- Further Feedback
Lu – Nice image, cute. A very natural personality no acting I like it. Only criticism is she didn’t put her own spin on the song.
Lily London – Lily stood behind the musicians she needs to take centre stage. A beautiful girl but go for edge over glamour. Vocally very strong. Nice arrangement of the cover.
Mimi Smiles – Nice image but it lacked sparkle in the performance. I think she’ll be great in years to come. Emotive vocals with good dynamics.
Stephanie Brittain – First half of the song a little lacklustre but she picked it up well. Not the best song choice but entertaining towards the end. Try to make the cover your own.
Polly Strange – Soulful performance and her voice came through in her original. Loved the cover choice! Suited her style and voice. Lost it a bit on the big notes towards the end.
Georgia Barry – Backing track took away from the performance. Liked the dancers but wish it had all happened at the front of the stage she’s right at the back! Huge voice in the cover.
Mister Bicester – Nice style, a very strong voice. Great image just need to make sure he is his own performer and doesn’t try to sound like anyone else, he has the natural ability. Great cover choice brilliantly delivered. He owned the stage.
Becky Payne – Nice original song. Definitely surprised the judges with the rapping. A very confident performance.
Jaden Cornelious – Wow huge voice. Surprised the judges with his style which has a contemporary twist.
