Music Contests Scotland Feedback – 23 and over category

Lorna Firth – A very strong start to the show she hit all the right notes. Maybe could have taken the mic off stand and used the stage more. Great projection.

Natalie Tulloch – Got better as she went through. Some great notes hit once the nerves subsided. Song and image didn’t match.

Stacy McIntosh – Very solid but not sparkling. Use the stage more to add performance to the act.

Stacy Paris – A bit of a dated song but really well performed. A little static though could have worked the stage.

Caroline Gilmour – Nice playing and singing. Good song choice then loved the tempo change into next song. Perfect covers but needed to feel more originality.

Supa Jme – Good original song. Crowd participation is good but not at the expense of mic technique and timing. A confident performance.

Sarah Beth-Brown (aka Born-by-Wires) – Different, which is what we like. Loved the change of pace into Blondie. Good but definitely room for improvements.

Jacklyn Gray – A bit lacking in energy and zest. A good voice nonetheless. Lacks originality.

Stacey Archibald – Great song choice. Nice original too she has good songwriting skills.

Lynn – Smashed it with a huge voice. Picked a much under-rated Beatles song and made it her own. A very powerful performance.

Music Contests Scotland – Further Feedback

Mena – Great audience participation. Good stage performance. Star quality and good rhymes.

The Coaltown Daisies –  Great melodies. Didn’t disappoint in that respect but would have liked to see more originality from them. Needs some oomph in the next round.

Jocelyn – A sleepy song perhaps didn’t show off the talents of her voice. A good voice but an uninspired song choice.

Tina Carl – A good voice but lacked control in the louder parts of the song. It came close to shouting at times.

Leona Hens – A very straight cover lacked originality. Well sung though with a nice touch of soul.

Dave & Nick – Not a great original track. They work well together but need more dynamism.

Karla Bernardi – Cracking voice and vocal technique. She gave me goosebumps which isn’t easy! Total power and totally in tune.

Aaron McLaren – Nice voice and a really nice original song. A very soulful and enjoyable performance.
