Music Contests Sheffield Feedback – 17-22 category
Ryan Gilpin – Brave song choice left his vocals exposed but pulled it off.Flat at times but overall very good.
Shamya Beresford – Good confident start for someone who hasn’t performed before but missed a few notes. Rapping better the singing.Great image and style.
Victoria Haynes – Classy performance would have liked to have seen bigger notes hit. Work on diction and pronunciation of your vocal. You have a strong voice.
Jessica Clough–Safe song Jessica hard to stand out with this one. Work the stage more.Great control and pitch and a confident performance nonetheless.
Ben Boulton – Try not to look like a generic surfer and bring more individuality to your look. Nice playing and singing but work on the balance they’re fighting each other at the moment.A talent but a little raw at the moment.
Becky Collins – Stunning girl! Great image could go for a bit more edge over glamour. Missed a couple of notes. Use the stage area more. Needs a bit more practice to polish her talent.
Hannah my chan – Loved the cover. Hannah feels the music which is vital. Original song not too hot. Hannah has ability and lots of character.
Bella – A bit of a mish mash of images. More chemistry needed between them. Harmonies are decent but need to be softer. A bit more movement on stage needed. Enjoyed it.
Ben Lydiat– Different and original but don’t overload the loop and keep it engaging. Perhaps get to the singing earlier there were a lot of confused faces!Great idea but execution not quite perfect.
Maria Carr – Big voice but work the stage more. Pitch perfect for majority.Portrayed great emotion.
Craig Jones – Adele never a good song choice if you try to replicate. She can’t be beaten vocally so you need to put your own spin on it. Good voice though. A very expressive voice but work on the image a little to stand out.
Music Contests Sheffield – Further Feedback
Misha Malcolm – Not the most inspirational song choice but she has a great voice and felt the song, it meant something to her.1st class performance.Very professional.
Nathan Morris – Missed a few vocals but nice playing. Great potential but try not to imitate the artist you are covering.
Rebecca Vaughan – Great to put your own spin on a song but make it entertaining. All a bit one paced for too long. Need to be more confident because there talent there.
Rosie Shann - Good song choice only went for the notes she could reach which shows good control. Loved the tempo change in the 2nd song it showed good versatility.Great stage presence.
Put Your Hands Up Maurice! - Check out a band called Slow Club for perfect male/female harmonies. Need more originality in the act to take it from pleasant to excellent. Good performance generally.
Alicia & Becky – Harmonies aren’t bad and the chemistry is there. They’re fun and they’re fabulous singers.
Ruby Hill – Nice and upbeat and enjoyed herself on stage. A brave performance but voice needs training to refine.
The guest act for the day was Lucy Spraggan, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances of her upbeat and original music.
