South Yorkshire Music Competition Feedback – 23 and over category
K.O.G – Love the image great flash of colour in the scarf. Great idea to have accompanying guitarist allowed him to be more expansive with vocals. Very soulful Bob Marley cover. Just try to connect with the audience more with some eye contact.
Andrew Cox – A bit flat through the cover. Needs more vocal control to be successful. Nice but not different I’m afraid.
Dan Aspinall–Nice performance with plenty of passion. Perfect cover choice for transition from original.Strong playing.
Mark Anthony – A bit cheesy. Felt the song though and enjoyed the performance. Vocals felt a little restrained would have liked to have seen more of them.
Chris Moon – Nice guitar playing think the voice could be more subtle to compliment the guitar.Evocative and assured performance and a good original song.
Faye – Not the best song choice it’s hard to add anything to Make You Feel My Love that hasn’t already been done.Strong stage presence with a great tone to her voice.
South Yorkshire Music Competition – Further Feedback
Dwight Pereira – Guitar playing very repetitive and voice not quite soft enough for the song. Loved the individuality in the 2nd song very brave.Rough around the edges but a very likable chap.
Mark Ellis – Cultivate an image but make sure it’s snappy and edgy. Good energy in the performance.Great vocal range.
Mode–A bit of a mish-mash of images. Nice chemistry. Nice original beats but no chorus! Good flow to the rap.
Matt Henshaw – Very haunting voice loved it. Great image too. Performance wavered a little in the middle but overall excellent.
Becky Fowler – Could have felt the song more. Hit the big notes but not the most inspirational song choice to engage the audience.Strong vocals with a good range.
Andy LED – Backing track totally cheesed it up beyond repair. Took away from guitar playing.Great voice but lacking in conviction.
Benjamin Loy – Stick to the singing, rapping felt gimmicky.Great stage presence and a very engaging performance.
The guest act for the day was Lucy Spraggan, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances of her upbeat and original music.
