Unsigned Musicians Cardiff- Feedback for the 16 and under category

Ella Phillips- Always difficult to open the show and performed quite well. Be secure in your arrangements even though it is great to be original.

Alice Mee-Bishop- Confident and projected well. Think carefully about image to complement vocal style.

Kirsten Osborn- Very elegant, classic look which suited the style. Not sure however it will be enough to compete today but comfortable in your genre.

Nina Jones- Sung securely with mostly well held projection and tone control but aim to develop greater stagecraft and audience connection.

Millianna Cotterell- Could teach the older pro’s a trick or two – very well done indeed! Relaxed into the performance with increasing confidence. One to watch…

Adele Fullick- Not sure about song choice. Lower register not the strongest today. Also watch the excessive ad-libs – try to find your own style and make more use of your nice vocal tone.

Ashleigh Embling- Beautiful voice – have some more training to secure your breath. Also watch leading note lyric placement. Definitely stick at it…

Bibiana Viazzani- Great voice! (Great name too!). Astonishing projection and control at this age. Definitely one for the future and deserves to go through today.

Caitlin Boulton- Fabulous potential…a comfortable and stylistically individual performance. Would be interested to see a wider repertoire. (Watch ending…!)

Charlea Sheppard- We have mixed feelings about this. Clear ability but (without wishing to be rude) don’t understand the dress.  Some promise shown but didn’t quite work today.

Elena- Really good control and dynamic shape. A difficult song to attempt and you did well…!

Isabella Collins- Really liked the style, contrast and overall context but timing between you both was not there in places. Watch image also. Shame – I wanted this to do well - could be fantastic.

Jessica Eckersall- So much raw talent and promise! You need to stick to it, keep taking the lessons and work on pitching more confidently.

Jessica Chick- Great control, intonation and very original. One of the better acts in this show.

Ruby Bees- Good performance but needs to develop a greater sense of engagement and stage confidence. Definitely top half but not quite enough to go through probably.

Sophie Cotterell- Split the judges – could be very commercially attractive with guidance.  Definitely one of the better ‘performers’.

Talis Eros Mills- Justin Bieber in Cardiff! Really like the image, presence and control. Complete confidence in himself. One to watch…

Unsigned Musicians Cardiff- Further Feedback

Megan Grubb- Great style and image. Like the set up on stage. Just a little work needed on voice though….

Lynette Mutuota- Excellent! This girl has it all. One of the best in show.

Kelsey Noonan- Very likeable and saleable. Needs an edge to go through though…

Jessica Handley- Nice original song (one of the few to attempt an original), but second song was just a fraction out of her vocal range.

Lydia Kate Howells- Love the image and there is a lovely, unique tone to her voice but would suggest training is needed to perfect tone control.  Good enough to go through overall.

Rebecca Jones- Good original song followed by an original and successful interpretation of someone else’s song. Very good!

Macy Langdon Jones- The whole package – amazing stage confidence the only act to meaningfully achieve audience participation. Wow!

Tom Wright- Would be great on stage in the west end….split the judges but ultimately could do well in his genre.

Gemma Taylor- Powerful, controlled voice. Some stage presence too although you might want to refine the image.  Secure overall.

Atiya- Great voice and loads of promise. Great energy and delivery also. Slight hiccups in cover song and not sure about the original, being honest. One to watch though….

Megan Phelan- Good stage presence – work on vocal training and try to perform with just a little more confidence.

The guest act for the day was Hatty Keane, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances of her upbeat and original music.
