Singing Contests London Feedback for the 16 and under category
Charissa Castillo-Doughty – Pushed the vocal too hard and suffered with tuning in places. Looked way too laid back. Work on your breathing if your smoking give up!
Sadiq Abbagana – Not short of confidence and used the stage well but vocal was flat in places. Second song needed a hook and needed more visually on stage dancers would have made it more of a show.
Sangita – Nice energy in performance but was a pub performance. Watch your tone which became a little pushed.
Delicia Edgar – Good song choice and had a lovely presence backed up with a strong voice. Guitarist must improve.
Hannah Lewis – Put a good twist on a medley of songs, performed well and used all of the stage but most of all it was fun. Watch that you don’t over stretch yourself with the vocals.
Singing Contests London- Further Feedback
Sarah Farrell – Could have engaged more, open those eyes and interact with them. An emotional song and needed to portray that emotion more! Careful of pitching and watch intonation.
TrumpetstarNay – Good adaption of the song but to be better needs a less complicated and a catchy hook. At the moment that chorus isn’t going to stick in my head. Add some dance moves to the performance, and also some dancers and a routine.
Sam Brett – Nice recovery fella after the connection fell out. Perhaps should have stopped and re connected with the thread but the guy clearly has ability.
YB – Confident not just using the stage but the auditorium as a whole. It flowed and will be in the mix!
Paper Faces – Well thought through routine and a good song, but not catchy enough to be a hit so needs a hook. Vocals let them down on the cover breakdown, but lots of stage presence.
Charlie – Nice tone but nerves affecting the performance. Focus on nailing it and performing. Not sure needed the third cover as the link. Keep developing vocals as they were not always confident. And be careful of placement so it doesn’t sound too classical.
Georgia Ku – Nice change on pace to the original, loved the amplified guitar and sultry vibe.
Laura Millyard – Nice playing and comfortable. Look at image and try to convey more expression. Relax and sit back into your delivery. Loved the Celtic influences in the chords.
XL – Remember your audience, a serious lack of engagement.
Shehara –Lovely tone and a strong performance just try to control your breathing. Bit of connection between guitarist and singer would be good!
The guest act for the day was FDot1, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances of his upbeat and original hip hop.
