Unsigned Musicians London Feedback for 23 and over category

Cuthbert 80 – Think about your positioning on the stage, guitarist should be sat back a little and lead vocalist at the front made it look sloppy rather than slick. Well done on the mic control with the falsetto.

Alseyda – Struggled with pitch, but lovely tone, work on lower range, guitar is out of tune on the recording. Performance needed to be more interesting too.

David Trusson - Nice vocal watch guitar tuning and work on expression perhaps stand to play, mix it up and will provoke more bodily movement. Good original song.

Jade Barnett – Liked the choice of cover seemed to sing it too straight and needed to swing it a little as it’s got a lot rhythm in the song.

NV - Looked fantastic in the dress but tuning of vocal was poor, it killed the chance of progression and some high marks from the Judges. Open your eyes to communicate.

Martin Renson – Good energy, used the stage well and audience interaction. Vocal got a little stretched at the top end and you struggled with diction which spoilt an otherwise engaging performance.

Engine – Don’t forget your audience, felt like a lazy performance almost self indulgent but potential is there for all to see as recording artists.

Agla – Lovely tone, but looked awkward on stage, needs to relax and perform. If you closed your eyes you sounded great just needs to put on a show on stage.

Charlotte Crowe – Performance didn’t come natural to Charlotte but she has a good voice which she should look to develop her own style and play around with the song to make her own.

Alfa D – Different and unique but not totally standing out. The song needs a hook and bringing together of the dynamic.

Daniel Mushett - Image and song was in synch. Performed his socks off! Jackson who? This guy’s the real deal very entertaining just need to work on being more unique and not too much of an impersonation.

Cozi – Lacked energy from the minute the guys walked on stage and continued into the song. Where’s the passion and look like you are enjoying it, it was a complete contrast to the previous act which exaggerated the lack of desire.

Jason and the Funk “o” Naughts – Could have swung the song a bit more to give it more rhythm.

Lovita – Lovely voice, but song way to big!

Mish da Fyah Sis – Used the stage well and engaged well with the audience. Good strong original too. Rapping is stronger than the singing perhaps consider bringing in a singer for the area finals.

Nicole Sky - Good vocal, perhaps look to work the dynamics stronger, seemed too slow also so could have quickened it up too. Bring the tension out of your shoulders make sure your comfortable.

Unsigned Musicians London - Further Feedback

Layeeefa – Performed the song well and the song is good. Guitar work could have been a bit more complex and interesting changing the chord sequence. Relax the vocals a bit as it affects the pitch.

Samantha Kate Sheppard – Very raspy and distinctive voice watch the guitar tuning.

Kim Rox – The keys and vocal didn’t seem to give the dynamic uplift that the delivery of the performance needed to be in synch. Work on your top range and breathing.

So Shaw – Good entertainer but can’t see this guy being a recording artist. Make sure you look at your audience and engage.

308 – Good image and looked like they were enjoying it too! Some tuning issues need rectifying.

Nigel Notley – Good passion, good vocal but would have liked to have seen something more modern.

Ping Long – Cover was weak and needed more practice as when he did his original had everything the cover didn’t crisp vocals and clear diction.

Layla G and Josh – Channel that passion with engaging the audience , bit different with the electro guitar backing, good chemistry between performers. Be careful to get the balance of the front person so not completely out staged, Layla to not get lost in the lower range of the song.

Harry Palmer – Good vocalist but in a large show failed to shine from the pack. Get rid of the a cappella bit, much better with the guitar.

Elle & Tom – Nice contrast of songs showed some good versatility and liked the adaption of the Corona song. Really good example of taking a cover and making it your own.

Caddy Cooper – Strong voice guitar work lacked dynamics and needed to be more interesting.

Bobby Houston – Sounds like a boy band song which isn’t so bad I guess. Good contrast with the cover and good emotion. Watch the timing and tuning towards the end.

Paul Carella – Americans would love him! Great voice.

The guest act for the day was FDot1, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances of his upbeat and original hip hop.
