Open Mic Liverpool feedback – 16 and under category

Rebecca Gorton– Think about taking the mic off the stand for a more engaging performance. Open out your body whilst performing and work on the mix between chest and head voice and include dynamics in your singing.

Molly Dunleavy– Coherent image. Felt the emotion of the song. High notes need control but the potential in the vocal is there. Follow that! Well done.

Lydia Roberts– Well acted out. Watch that American accent creeping in. Need to work on scale had a wobbly section in the middle. Great voice though and confident too. Your lower chest voice needs some work. Great tone.

Olivia Rose– A good edgy image but not coherent with musical genre. Maybe musical theatre needs some edge though? You need to look like you’re enjoying it more as you have fantastic potential.

Sammie Jo McCormick– Nice classy look but maybe look for more edge. Started well but lost a couple of notes which put her off keel. Good voice and good tone. Good to see a bit more of a performance. Image needs work though.

Izabelle Reid –Maybe could have worked the stage more. Love the image with the bright boots. Good voice. Very Beyonce-esque! Good chest voice. Perform more – you have a great voice.

Be Minor– Polished act. Good harmonies. Good image. Well-rehearsed. Loads of potential here. Don’t hold back. Good use of stage. Slight tuning issues in parts more towards the end but overall brilliant!

Ben Mark Turner– Not sure this was the right song choice.  Some parts were too big. Backing track seemed too loud compared to vocals. Loads of confidence. Good voice but out of tune in parts.

Cara Hammond–Nice to hear an original song. Good song. Nice subtle tones. Ghostly voice has loads of potential. Good original style made the cover her own.  Make sure your guitar is completely in tune.

Catrin Hopkins– Good mic technique and the performance was well executed. Liked the song choice with good use of stage. Great voice with nice tone and control. You need to open yourself out physically when you perform.

Cathy Spencer– Original song sounded like ‘Wherever You Will Go’ in parts Off key from the start and it effected the rest of the first song. Good tone. You need to introduce more vibrato into your singing.

Cole Emsley– Cute factor. Americanised slightly, be yourself. Huge voice and used it to great effect in the right parts of the song. Not sure the song choice is appropriate for you but you smashed it!

Divinette– Flat start. Think about the small detail for example the tallest should stand central. Think about bringing impact to the performance. Fantastically talented as individuals but you need to rehearse more together.

Danielle Reid– Great soft vocals. This was the correct song choice. Great image and good use of the stage. Vocals out of tune at times though. A brave but raw performance. Good levels of emotion in your performance.

Open mic Liverpool – Further feedback

Ellie Johnston– Put her own spin the cover but needs to project her voice more. Good accompaniment. Your voice still has some maturing to do. Good tone but you need more character in your voice.

Hollie Moffatt– Learn to hide your nerves you have good ability. Great vocals but nerves effected. Stay in the song during instrumental you looked a little uncomfortable. Good to take mic off stand but need to then work the stage.

Emma Campbell– Make sure you are feeling the song. Nice original style. Guitar slightly out of tune. Work the audience rather than the floor or your fret board. Would I buy your music? Yes.

Izzy Wood– Use the front of the stage when you’re stood at the back it’s hard for the audience to engage. Moved forward gradually. Brilliant potential. Loads of confidence and a great voice.

Harriet Jane– Love the image. Make sure you develop your own singing style don’t base it on anyone else. A really engaging performance. With a voice like that I’m sure you’ll soon be able to afford some shoes!

Jenny Jones– Need to use the stage more and feel the emotion of the song a little more. Nice voice and a nice look but it needs another dimension. I would love to hear some of your own material.

Joe Maddocks– Put your own spin on the song but consider if it’s the right song for your voice. Well performed to the crowd. Keep working on personal vocal tone, sounded a bit too much like Ed Sheeran.

Kelsey Walsh– Not sure the image is in line with singing style. Good charisma and star quality. I think the song is too low, you have a powerful chest voice. I would like to have heard your head voice. Nice job Kelsey.

Lizzy Rose– A hard song to take on it has to be vocally perfect. Stage was well worked. Your chest voice needs some work. Open yourself out to us more when you perform. Good voice and good potential.

Katy Johnstone– Careful not to song in American accent. Need to stay in the song during instrumentals. Very pretty girl and a beautiful tone to voice. Put her own spin on the song too.

Rebecca Holt– An emotional performance. Heartfelt. Good range but your riffs are a bit shaky. Good potential. You warmed into your performance. Controls her voice very well. Well done.

Zoe Leyland– Cultivate your own style to back up your great voice. Vocals excellent just not the most compelling stage performance. Very strong singer. Slightly pitchy and nasal. Good range.

PoggyWobbly at the beginning nerves affected vocals. Make sure you own the stage. Dancers not really necessary for a ballad and it maybe put more pressure on you. You need to relax more.

Tasha’leanne – Classy look. Song suits her. Just needed more oomph to stand out from the crowd. Your chest voice needs work at the lower end of your range. Good range generally and good potential.

Amelia O’Connell-  Huge voice used to good effect. Very polished, an excellent performer. Lots of emotion in your performance but be careful it was slightly out of tune in places.

The guest act for the day was Hatty Keane, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances.
