Unsigned musicians Liverpool feedback for the 17-22 age category
Clare Greene– Looks great but no stage presence. Turns a good voice into an average performance. For first on stage Clare set the bar high. Nice tone but a bit too breathy in the low chest voice.
Hayley Kyffin– Looks lovely. Felt the emotion of the song. Hit the right notes for majority but one or two flat notes. Not sure if this was the right song choice for you. The song needed a bit of grit in the delivery.
Richard Barnes– Epic voice. Great mic technique. Nice original song. Great confidence on stage. Nothing better than showing off your original material. Great tone but you may be working too hard and singing too loud in parts.
Stephanie Seddon– Song was a tough one to take on leaves the voice vulnerable, but mostly hit the right notes. Your voice is a little too breathy in the chest voice. This can cause you to fall out of tune.
Lorna Prescott– Not the most original song to take on and Lorna didn’t put her own flavour on it. Nicely sung though. Started a bit ropey but got into the performance as she got into it.
Emily Jayne Gaskell– Nice take on MJ but timings were a little off in places. Good eclectic mix of covers, well done. Slow down don’t push the song too much. Very confident during the second part of the song.
Charlotte Roberts– Voice needs more projection. Good moves on the stage but all on one spot use the whole stage and engage the crowd more. Good image. Simply happy singing. Thanks!
Amy Bolster– Performance needed more oomph. Lacked impact in a show with so many other performers. That said vocally very good. A performance that made many faces in the audience smile.
Brian Hughes– Voice feels a little gimmicky. Work on technique with mic too loud in parts. Lost it on the big notes. You have a lot of potential but in parts your voice was straining.
Unsigned musicians Liverpool – Further feedback
Isaac Kershaw– Strong voice. Lots of star quality he draws in the crowd. Nice original song well synched with cover choice. You have a unique sound but your vibrato is a little wide.
Gemma Loveridge– Well choreographed. Dancers added another dimension but it lacked symmetry maybe get one either side of you. You’re a bit too nasal and therefore need to do more work on your chest voice.
Jessica Ball– A very engaging performer. Image excellent. There’s a mysterious quality about Jessica. Great guitar playing. Good cover choice. Voice needs a little work but keep doing what you’re doing.
Jesvin– Big voice. Glamorous look but there so many performers of this nature it’s hard to stand out and get ahead. Some vocal tuition would help you fulfil your potential. You brought a good look to a tough song.
Jessica-Abigail– Good accompaniment on piano but not sure about the backing vocals. Needed to use more of the stage. Interesting duo. Can’t help but think there was something more you could offer.
Redd – Stunning image. Used the stage well. Voice needs a bit more scale to offer more on big notes. Confident performance there is definitely something there. Keep working as hard as you do.
Leigh Taylor Mansfield– Original too brief to get into it. Good cover put plenty of energy into it. Nice voice with some personality and range. Slightly out of tune at the beginning of the cover.
Roxanne Lauren Jones– Nice vocals but it lacked performance. Your vibrato is to wide a singing teacher can help you correct that. However, a unique and lovely voice. You have everything except self-belief.
Sorethumb– Mic technique needs work. Work on inflection. Rapping lacked a little timing but was largely effective. Good idea to work the crowd. Needs loads more rehearsal. Needs to be much tighter the beat-boxing didn’t work.
Sophie– So nice to see someone call this a Bob Dylan cover, not an Adele cover! Put her own spin on it but lacked punch. Needed to stay in the performance during instrumentals. Sung very sensitively.
The guest act for the day was Hatty Keane, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances.
