Singing opportunity Liverpool Feedback for the 23+ age category

Marianne Yates– Nervous opening. Felt the emotion of the song. Not the most exciting song though. Maybe should have chosen a different one. Looks great and some nice dance moves.

Only Human– Great flow. Good original. Sung parts let him down though maybe get the sung parts onto backing track next time. Great cover but pushed the time limit a little. Singing again a problem during cover.

Anna Caldwell– A classy performer. Not the most exciting as a stand-out performer in a competition like this. Such a rich voice. She has a great sense of style. A real confident performance.

Alex Sykes– Good look going on but not the best song choice really. Very one-paced song to use in a one-song set. A good tone but out of tune in some places. A truly heart-warming performance.

Laina– A big song to take on. Wobbly in places. Classy look would prefer something with a bit more edge. A slightly pitchy start too breathy in the low chest voice. Good vocals in the chorus but lost tune again at the end.

Katie Shearer– Image a bit lazy. Looks a bit ‘every day’. Good accompaniment. Slighty too breathy and nasal. Need more work on your chest voice. Good vocal tone but need to work on tuning.

Lorna Squires– Very static use the stage area. A bit of a sleepy song it was hard to get into it. Nice tone and vibrato but off key slightly in places. ‘This was the highlight of my day, thank you’.

Paul Holland– Nice to hear an original song. Needed to be more chorus driven though. Good storytelling nonetheless. Nice take on the Dylan cover. Your voice needs a bit more character though.

Sheila Kumar– Brave to do accapella to a very disrespectful audience. This suited her better it felt like she was trying a bit too hard during first song. A better performer when relaxed.

Singing opportunity Liverpool – Further feedback

Carl Harper– Strong vocals picked a good song to show it off. Strange to play a track about Christmas but it is a strong number with potential. Good voice and singwriting but think about your image a little.

Danielle –Good stage performer but needs more vocal control. On the whole a really good performance but lost vocals at the end. Had me on the edge of my seat. Top job. Diction needs work but generally speaking a good performance.

Karl Palmer– Strong voice and nicely performed.  Big moments were huge! Good voice, slightly nasal, but still great to listen to. Your voice is strong enough work on mic technique to make sure you’re not shouting.

Shellie Nicholls– Great original style. Just watch vocal control in early part of the song. Loved the cover version. Top of your range needs some work to stop you drifting out of key.

Soulchild– Good accompaniment. Watch the Americanisation in vocals. Not a stand-out performance despite a really high tempo song. Good interpretation of the song. Vocals lack a bit of energy.

Kelly Marie– Nice image. Use the whole stage it will bring a lot to the act. Audience will engage more. You have a great voice and loads of confidence. A great choice of songs. What an enormous finish!

George Michael Abbott– Nice image. Bring your own style to the table. Command the stage more. Did they save the best until last? Need more swagger though please. Looked uncomfortable on stage at times.

The guest act for the day was Hatty Keane, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances.
