Singing competitions London - feedback for the 17-22 age category
Cassey-Ann – Needs to work on flow. It all felt a little sluggish make sure timings are bang on. Needs some tuition on breathing techniques. Work on bringing passion to your performance. Good vocal but a hard song to take on unless you do it differently from the original.
Rose Betts – Haunting voice, great style. Loved the cover choice. Very engaging original. Interesting recording voice. Good piano playing but the songs needed more. Amazing voice but not as good as we’ve seen her in the past. Needed to engage with audience more.
New Height – Needs more chemistry you’re too far apart and there’s no interation. A few tuning issues. All a bit loose. The idea was a good one but the act is missing a certain spark. Delivery of rap and song was good. Maybe one for the future.
A.Y.S – A bit flat. Felt like they were working against each other at times. Late appearance of third member was a little odd and didn’t really add impact as it should. Delivery and lyrics faltered at times. Good crowd interaction.
Oliver Robinson – Nice original voice. Liked the cover needed to keep the momentum going though, too long a pause between songs. It was all a little middle of the road. Vocally not the strongest. Original song was a stronger performance than your cover.
Georgia Ku – Nice arrangement of song. Good accompaniment so much better than a backing track. Cute factor. Nice and relaxed interpretation of the cover. loads of soul in your voice. Good delivery and good vocal control.
Delicia Edgar – Great accompaniment but it lacked a certain something. Could have had more shazazz. You could have climbed more into the performance to rise above the instrumentation, this would have driven the song. Felt intimate.
Realm – Nice style. Playing and beats a bit too harsh at times and not sure the cover choice suited them. Original song good though. Good concept it really works. Original song was good but your styling needs work. Be yourselves a little more!
Elley – Nice image. Missed a couple of early notes. Didn’t like the song choice. Made it her own though so respect for that but the arrangement wasn’t brilliant. Stylistically interesting but vocally a little limited and a slightly stiff performance.
Jazz – No signs of nerves credit for that. Good performance to the crowd who loved it. In reality though, voice not strong enough for the performance to carry him forward. Good crowd interaction. Good confidence not bad vocally either.
Lauren Gray – Nice rocky performance. Lack of confidence showed though. Lauren didn’t look comfortable dancing and it was odd that she had dancers but then stayed static herself. Believe more! You are good.
Singing Competitions London – Further feedback
Luke Crawford – Stepped it up. This was loads better than his last performance. This is his style stick to it. Not original enough though, work on that. Good energy and a really nice version of the cover. very good!
Sophie Mendoza – Huge voice but would have liked to have seen something more current. It’s all a little dated. Could she be a star today? Not in the market as it is. Strongest of the day vocally though. A fabulous singer!
Emma Love – Nice vocals and a classy look. A strong performance but could have commanded more stage presence. Voice is good but stage movements let her down. Really nice climax and ending but needed to connect with the song more.
Deano – All a bit forced. Relax more. Not the strongest performer but you’ll always win over crowds with a good personality. Good song choice but use the whole of the stage and try to relax more. Image needs work try to look like a pop star.
Billy Matthews – Nice original song then the cover really picked up the tempo, good choice! An assured performance. Unique. Good voice and good tone but you need some chord substitutions. Vocally not clear enough, but not bad.
YB – Good entertainer. Has he been watching F Dot 1? Lost a bit of impact and vocally became a little tired. Excellent piece of entertainment but watch mic technique. Great performance but lacked rapping ability. Was a bit over the top but he certainly gave it 100%.
Amy Bridges – Accapella forwhole song was a brave choice. Didn’t work to be honest. Great vocals but needed a beat. Instruments would have enhanced the performance so much. A hauntingly good voice though you have something good to work with.
Hannah Lewis – Very static it needed more feeling. Lovely vocals I love her style. Nice original take on the cover. Nice and simple it worked. Really strong voice. Performance needed more passion. A unique voice with lots of different colours.
T’Shan Williams-Waithe – Vocally not as strong as in the last round. A high impact performance though and the dancers really worked. Jessie J cover was your strongest song. A very confident performance. A superbly put together routine.
Stephanie Jackson – A big song to take on. She nailed it though well done. Could have looked a bit more sharp and edgy. Lost it very slightly towards the end but overall very good. She can sing but does she have a unique selling point?
Shehara – Nice style but the song stretched her at times. Good accompaniment. Looks beautiful, nice image. Nice happy ending to the set. Staging was nice and simple. They work well as a pair there was good chemistry. A good, engaging performance.
Laura Millyard – Lover her voice but the guitar playing needs to be more expansive. Good originality and a good performance. Very intimate. Maybe work with a guitarist to make the arrangements more interesting.
Emily Rose – Liked what she tried to do with a different arrangement but not sure it worked. Nice story to the original song and it was well performed. Good arrangement of the cover it matched your original. A bit too quirky.
Sham – Dancers don’t look too current but did enhance the performance. Good timings to the rap. Good performance. Best rapper of the day so far in terms of clarity and delivery. An ambitious song as well but it worked.
The guest act for the day was Hatty Keane, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances.
