Portsmouth Live Music Competition - Results from the Area Final!
Portsmouth live music competitions, such as the Open Mic UK singing competition,have discovered the best unsigned singers in the region.
The 2011 Area Finals of the live music competition in Portsmouth were held on Sunday 27th November at the Highlight, Gunwharf, Portsmouth. The Area Final brought together the winners from the Aldershot, Brighton and Portsmouth Regional Finals, all competing in a bid to make it to the Grand Final in January at The O2. The live music competition was fierce and the standard was extremely high, well done to all the singers for putting on a great show!

With so much talent it was difficult to make the decisions, but well done to the following acts that have progressed to the Grand Final on the 21st January at The O2. Footage of the winners will be viewable shortly on the Open Mic UK MUZU channel.
Also The Open Mic UK competition is also being filmed for broadcasting on Sky TV! A two-part series will be broadcast on Sky on Sunday 8th& 15thJanuary. The Making of a Star comes to Sky 201 in the New Year.
There is one more place up for grabs in the Grand Final which the remaining acts from the Area Final can now compete for; the wildcard voteis now open and footage for the acts can be seen on MUZU, so get voting for your favourite to help them win that final spot!

Live Music Competition in Portsmouth publicity
As well as places in the Area Final, there were exposure awards for publicity up for grabs, and the prizes were £250 worth of recording studio time with Open Mic UK regional studio partners River Studios and Anton Road. Well done to all acts who gave some good publicity for themselves and especially well done to the following who have won themselves studio time asthe exposure awards winners.

The winning acts from the Southern England Area Final showcase will now be performing at the Grand Final against the winners from the remaining four Area Finals, on 21stJanuary at The O2, London. Come along and see the best unsigned talent from across the UK!
