Singing contest Manchester-Results from the North West & Scotland Area Final!
Singing contests in Manchester, such as the Open Mic UK singing competition, have discovered the best unsigned singers in the North West and Scotland.
The 2011 Area Finals of the singing contest in Manchester were held on Sunday 4th December at the Willows, Manchester. The Area Final brought together the winners from the Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester Regional Finals, all competing in a bid to make it to the Grand Final in January at The O2.
The Open Mic UK competition is also being filmed for broadcasting on Sky TV! A two-part series will be broadcast on Sky on Sunday 8th& 15thJanuary. The Making of a Star comes to Sky 201 in the New Year.
There is one more place up for grabs in the Grand Final which the remaining acts from the Area Final can now compete for; the wildcard vote is now open and footage for the acts can be seen on MUZU, so get voting for your favourite to help them win that final spot!

The guest act for the day was Lucy Spraggan, who treated the crowds to brilliant performances of her upbeat and original music.
Singing contests Manchester publicity
As well as places in the Grand Final, there were exposure awards for publicity up for grabs and the prizes were £250 worth of recording studio time with Open Mic UK regional studio partners Bling Studio and LP Studios. Well done to all acts who gave some good publicity for themselves and especially well done to the following who have won themselves studio time as the exposure awards winners.
