Anya Lang – Gorgeous vocal, emotive, expressive, controlled, effortless. Great original song. Lyrically creative. Good use of the face. Delivered with passion. Try to make the dynamic changes really count to bring more light and shade to the performance. Click here for advice on dynamics. More interaction with the audience please! Click here for advice on performing visually.
Micah Rose – Has an easy listening vocal. Very cool. Great song. Good interaction with the audience and good use of stage in the right way. Smooth shades of Sade, confidently performed.
Harry George – Great song, and great voice. Maybe a little too Paulo? You have a fantastic vocal tone though. Try to back it up with a little more of the real Harry! The actual performance lacked personality. Try and interact with the audience now. Click here for advice on performing visually.
Nina Ebony – A really soulful voice with a lovely tone, but your body language was timid. You have a great voice – enjoy it! Click here for advice on performing visually. Your styling was 10/10.
Yasmin Taylor-Haroun – Some pitching issues detracted a little from the sensitive delivery. Soft, sweet voice and personality. Careful with your intonation – especially your lower range. Cute beautiful tone. Great original song. Very natural. Don’t allow the nerves to get the better of you.
Holly – Gorgeous vocal. Very emotive and moving. Lovely rich, warm voice, but your weakness is in the upper middle voice. Just watch the higher phrases. Don’t get too harsh or shouty. Try to keep a round, full tone. Work on your breathing and scales. There’s something very likeable about you.
Joe Bell – Good singer. Staging and the performance was a little bland too. Click here for advice on performing visually. Lovely tone to your lower register, but need to watch the pitching with the higher notes.
Alpha – Individually you have great sounding voices, but together it still needs a bit of work. Try to relax and enjoy it to improve that chemistry and work on those harmonies. Nonetheless a very listenable and watchable act. Please show an interest in your audience and interact with each other. Click here for advice on performing visually.
Keren and Lauren – Great vocal blend. Like two Karen Carpenters! On point harmonies. Pleasant to listen to. A little more emotion and personality would give you the edge as a duo. It was like watching a rehearsal. Click here for advice on performing visually.
James Barrington Stephens – You certainly got the audience on your side. There’s nothing like some Big Band Swing to liven things up! Gorgeous voice. Sharply dressed. Now you need to add your own spin/twist on the big band sound if you want to be an artist in your own right rather than a tribute. Click here for advice on how to perform a creative cover.
Richard Jones – A faultless, magical performance. He captured the emotion and held it in his palm to release at will!
Ewan – Gorgeous, natural tone. Vocally expressive. Good song choice. Lovely tone and soulful control. Great rasp on the louder passages. Try to engage your audience just a little more. Click here for advice on performing visually.
Chloe Wilkes – Wrong song choice. It’s a dance number it needed more energy as the beat kicked in! You didn’t perform enough or use the stage. Overcome your nerves and go for it! Click here for advice on performing visually. A good vocal will be able to assist in your vocal control to be even better. Click here for advice on the importance of singing lessons.
Kiaya Lyons – Your stage craft shows promise but the vocal needs some tutoring to iron out any pitching issues. Click here for advice on the importance of singing lessons.. The song was too big for the voice.
Katie Hallam – Good, mature vocal with deep tones. Try to build some dynamics into the performance. Click here for advice on dynamics. Things only backed off when you reached the outro. Good confident guitar playing. Potential is there but more performance experience will develop your stage presence and dynamics within a song.
Amanda – A powerful performance. Try not to close your eyes too much. Click here for advice on performing visually. Lovely strident vocals and a striking appearance. Bold statements and very listenable. Technically advanced. And edgy artist.
Birmingham Singers Wanted – feedback continued
Darcy Poole – Nice looping – well worked, though it seemed your concentration on the stamp boxes detracted from the performance. Your levels were off-balance and you lost your intonation in places. Couldn’t really hear your voice. Loop pedal has its place but it was too simplistic and repetitive. Just keep it simple and concentrate on making the song different and being engaging to the audience. The loop pedal forced you to be static. Click here for advice on performing visually.
Victoria Cross – You have a strong enough voice and personality to ditch the guitar if you wanted to! Confident performance. Like the lyrics. Emotive dynamically. Executed well. Good song. You worked your range.
Melissa Severn – A bitter, original lyric delivered with a cheeky tongue-in-cheek performance. An interesting and entertaining balance! The concept and the lyrics are excellent. Work the dynamics to let the song breathe and develop. Very talented artist.
Emma Carter – Lovely voice. Don’t let nerves get the better of you! A shaky start but you improved. Keep going. Some vocal technique still needs a little attention and the song key may not have suited your lower register. But you have a lovely tone and it was a competent performance. It didn’t really show the real Emma though. Click here for advice on how to perform a creative cover.
Rhys Billson – You got your message over from the heart - the performance was lyrically deep and emotive. You have great diction but it was a bit one-dimensional – needs some more dynamics to bring light and shade to the performance. Click here for advice on dynamics. Your timing was a little out of sync at times so watch out for that.
Bella Estrella – Good synergy with your image and connection between performers. Good use of stage without over-selling it. Harmonies were a little disappointing and could have built real vocal depth with some great harmonies.
Rhia-Cherie – Quirky. Colourful. Vocally edgy. Confident singing, but the guitar suffered a little. Your characteristics shone through the song. A current song choice which you made your own after a bit of a weak start. You wound up to a great finish with good use of dynamics.
Kate Smith – You have potential but you lost control vocally by forcing it, which a good vocal coach will be able to assist you with to be even better. Click here for advice on the importance of singing lessons. Try and interact with each other as performers to demonstrate a little chemistry. Your delivery was alittle static – try to relax and use the stage! Click here for advice on performing visually.
Georgie Giles – Good idea of the mash up but you struggled to nail it vocally. A good vocal coach will help with your control, pitching and to be able to sing under pressure. Click here for advice on the importance of singing lessons. Your performance was very untidy at the end, remember to perform right to the end. Keep performing live and gain some experience.
Megan Lara Mae – Stunning! Beautiful song with a genuine heartfelt message, and fabulous delivery. Very listenable and what a great ending to the show. An engaging performance which you conveyed with such control - you couldn’t hear a pin drop in the audience. Perhaps look to expand your melodic writing to really show off those vocals.
