Brighton's Got Talent - Under 16's Feedback
Claudia – Well done for starting the show and coming on with a big smile on your face and welcoming your audience. You have a lot of confidence on stage which is great to see! Brilliant vocal range and impressive projection. Don’t be afraid to make the most of the stage and move around, to add more to your performance. Great eye contact with your audience. A great performance to start the show, well done.
Morgan Smith – You have such a unique, individual image that makes you really stand out straight away. Beautiful vocal tone and range. Wow, so impressed with the original rap section! Great use of the stage and stage confidence. You really expressed every emotion of the song well to your audience!
Izzy Croft-Smith – Well done for persevering with the technical issues at the start. Good eye contact with your audience, but your face looked very scared so try and relax and remember smile, your confidence did grow through the performance though. It was great to see you performing an original song and the lyrics were very mature, however not quite sure the song fully expressed your full vocal range, try and add more dynamics to really show off your voice more, click here for advice on singing dynamics. Great to see you playing the guitar so confidently, well done!
Archie McKeown – You have such a beautiful voice and amazing projection. Great to see you performing and acting the story of the song. You really expressed the light and shade of the song well. Just think about your image, it should really synchronise with the song you are performing, so it was a little too modern for a musical theatre song. Click her for more on act image and synchronisation.
Hannah Taylor – Adele is a very popular artist to cover and it is very difficult to compete against her, it is also very hard to put your own original twist on her songs which is important to express your own originality, click here for more on performing a creative cover and click here for more on the importance of song choice. Saying that, you expressed the emotion of the song very well.
Owain Lusted – Nice image with the hat. Great expression portrayed through your facial expressions, which really helped us connect to you and the song, click here for more on singing with facial expressions.
Shalamar B – You looked beautiful and you have a lovely vocal tone and range. Really great to see you move around the stage and have such good eye contact with your audience. You really expressed the emotion well through your expressions, just be careful not to shout instead of project, especially in the big vocal sections. Click here for tips on how to achieve better vocal projection.
Brighton's Got Talent Feedback
Amber Foxley – You have a lovely voice and a great technique. A very confident performance with good delivery of the song, try to work on your microphone technique to gain better control. Click for tips on microphone technique for singers.
Alice Ginman – The backing track really helped you give a different, more original performance. Try and use the stage more and remember to smile to show your audience that you are enjoying yourself. Click here for more tips on performing on stage for singers.
Blitz – Great to see you synchronising your image. You both have great vocals and ranges, but you need to work on trying to connect more together as an act, click here for tips for duos and groups. Great emotion and expression in your performance.
Zack Sinclair – It’s understandable to be nervous, however try not to look so nervous in your face, take your time and try to relax into the song. It would have been good to see you put more of an original twist on the song as you did sing it very similarly to George Ezra, which doesn’t show us anything of you as an act, click here for more on performing a creative cover. Also try and think more about your image, click here for more on act image and synchronisation.
Hepta Seas – Really good to see that you guys have thought about your image and synchronised what you are wearing. Nice movement, dancing along with each other. You both have good voices and harmonise well together. Just try and work on connecting more with one another when you’re performing, click her for tips on duos and groups.
Sound of Eden – You all look great, nice to see that you have thought about your image. It is always very brave to sing acapella, but you guys really pulled it off with your beautiful harmonies. It also allowed you to slow down the song and make it your own, which was very original. Good connection between the performers, a very well-rehearsed performance, well done.
Feedback from the Brighton's Got Talent Show
Samuel Buckley – Not quite sure that this song is best choice for your range; you seemed to low it for it, click here for more on the importance of song choice. It’s also hard to connect with your audience if you sing with your eyes closed. Your stage confidence will grow the more you perform, but click here for more on stage performance tips for singers.
Simisola Olashore – What a way to make an impression with that first note! You have such an impressive vocal range and such a soulful tone. Great confidence and use if the stage. The song really got the audience involved which was great! Click here for more on audience engagement.
Daniie – If you forget the words, just keep on going and don’t make it noticeable like walking off stage, well done for giving it another go though. Think that affected you though as you then seemed very nervous and that showed in your vocals slightly, click here for help with building stage confidence for singers.
Sophie & Rose – Really like the individual style and image of you both. Your voices suite each other so well and your harmonies are beautiful. Lovely song with good lyrical content, which was delivered well.
Rob Nicholl – You are very Frank Sinatra-esq, not only just with the vocals, but also with your personality and charisma on stage. Singing a Sinatra song can often be quite Cabrera and karaoke like, so click here for more on the importance of song choice. However you did connect well to the emotion of the song and you have lovely, smooth vocals, the last note was great! Great confidence on stage too!
Joe So – Great to see you expressing all the energy of the song in your performance by jumping around the stage, but you need to work on your diction as it was hard to hear the words you were rapping, click here for more on diction for singers. The language was quite inappropriate for a family show too.
Sarah Jones – You have a lovely voice and vocal range, but unfortunately there was nothing special or original about the performance, click here for more on performing a creative cover. You really need to use the stage and perform as much as you can especially for such an upbeat song, click here for more tips on performing on stage for singers.
