Grace Martinson - Confident, opened the show with composure. Not sure about the material (sorry!), click here for tips on writing songs. Great image and guitar complimented your look perfectly. Technically secure although there were small slips.
Pearle – Well projected, controlled, pace and pitch held. Room for greater stage presence and image doesn’t quite suit the style, click here for music synergy and image. Some adjustments needed but potential here.
Faye Plunkett – Strong voice, liked the identity and clear sense of style. You now need to develop your image and stagecraft, but top half today, click here for music synergy and image.
Brett Aland – Interesting act, technically secure which to succeed needs an edge and greater attention to detail. I do think this could develop into something commercially more viable with attention to image, range and stage presence, click here for music synergy and image and click here for tips on performing.
Drew Wedlake – Choice of song held the audience initially, (brave to use a longer instrumental opening), very good attempt to command a slower song and portray mood. To go to the next level you need to work on your stage presence, click here for tips on performing. Especially with sparser material where there is a greater emphasis on what you do in the non-vocal aspects.
Georgia Ross – Technically secure, with great timing and use of rhythms. Scope for a softer tone in places, plus greater contrast between parts. Needs to vary more tonally and dynamically, click here for tips on dynamics. Split the judges.
Ben Rogers – Secure and comfortable. To become commercially more viable you need to think about image, click here for music synergy and image, material and individuality of delivery. Keep going!
Megan – Like the articulation and clarity, lovely tone, technically secure for the most part. Beginnings of self-expression –promise here. Guitar accompaniment needs to be more sympathetic – rhythmically detracted from overall flow. Watch upper chest voice straining and pitch accuracy in high register, but strong aspects.
Charlotte Morgan – Began well, good song choice, but intonation and pitch problems today! Keep trying though – it happens….the judges felt there was a performer in the making here. Click here for tips on performing.
Bristol singers wanted – feedback continued
Lucy Glasson – Fairly comfortable performance, needing a commercial angle and attention to image. Really like the rhythmic skills, but the busy intervals were not exact and overall delivery could do with more dynamic contrast, click here for tips on dynamics. Watch stage work in final instrumental ending, Click here for tips on performing.
Taylor Darvy-Rowland – Great attempt to convey the mood, and there was shaping to the piece. Projection was good, and liked the vocal slides. Stage presence less assured though which detracted. Would like to see you again after more experience!
Laura Glasson – Appropriate image for the style, you sang through a smile and delivered the material confidently. Less well supported moments (watch breathing) but a stronger act overall.
Charle –Smooth and generally secure. Room for greater contrast and watch pitch when approaching / moving through the break. Loss of tone quality here also. Further work required, but stick at it, click here for the benefits of singing lessons.
Cihan – Good pitch, timing and use of rhythms. Stylistically less certain, articulation could be clearer and you need to develop your stage presence, particularly in open non-vocal parts. Work on your diction to improve, click here for vocal diction.
Young Wilson – You are established in your style, and present it well. Stage work was good, momentum was held. I can see this developing.
Charlie – Technically fine, some expression and clear sense of time and rhythm. Less certain style and image. Watch the song choice, you made it your own but it didn’t fit right, click here for the importance of song choice.
Lottie Amor – Controlled pace and pule, mostly consistent tone and pitch, and whilst you do need an edge there was attention to image appropriate to the style and some shaping.
Jennifer White – Liked the voice, and technically the performance was confident, but stage presence needs to develop, click here for tips on performing. Intervallic movement nearly exact.
Joshua Heather – Projected, lively and confident. Mostly secure technically. A little more stylistic direction required.
