Camden Auditions:  At Open Mic UK we provide music industry feedback to all acts that perform in our shows. Below is feedback for acts from the London Music contest that took place at Camden, London.

Camden Auditions – Singing Feedback

Fleur Briscoe – Good projection and tone! You were very confident which was admirable. Look to work on giving more dynamic range so you have more to give the chorus, sometimes less is more and it will give you a chance to breathe. Click here for the importance of vocal dynamics. Jamie Somerville – You have a very pure vocal! You were hitting the high notes, and your vocal control was great. I’m sure you need to be aware to closely watch its development. Good eye contact throughout, try to use this and hand movements so you can connect us to the emotion in the song. 

Eddie Jones – Good song choice very popular and current at the moment! Click here for more on the importance of the right audition song. You have a lovely soulful voice. Look to commit more to the song, in particular the chorus to really bring out the hook. Juliana Perpali – Song choice is really important and under pressure this is a big song perform. You struggled with the high notes, choosing a song that you can bring your own unique touch to would be more rewarding. Click here for the importance of song choices. You need to look at your diction while performing, the lyrics need to be sung clearer. Click here for tips to improve diction.

Khuwayne Linton – Nice rasp and tone to your vocal, look to commit even more to the song especially the chorus: let the sing breathe, and then really let rip for the chorus. Click here for the importance of vocal dynamics. Try to look towards your audience, keeping eye contact will be more engaging for your audience. Camden Auditions – Singer’s Feedback

Leyla Constantinidis - Good song choice very popular and current at the moment! Click here for the importance of song choices. You have great vocal control! Look to commit more to the song in particular the chorus to really bring out the hook. Click here for the importance of vocal dynamics. Vocally you are a little nasal, you drop into a classical tone at irregular intervals. This suggest you have been classically trained so you will need to decide the route you want to go down as a singer and work hard to iron out the inconstancies. Musty – Great vocalist and guitarist! You’re a very confident performer. Good engagement and eye contact throughout. Try and incorporate more movement into the performance to give more emotion which will help us to connect to your song. Zoe Constantino – Really nice song and lyrics! Song was written in a lovely mellow key, probably need to work of driven through a hook. Click here for tips on song writing. Look to work on your eye contact you looked down at the guitar and had your eyes closed for too much of the performance. Alia Lara – Fantastic projection, great range and dynamics. Great song choice! Very popular and current at the moment! Click here for more on the importance of song choices. Beth Waker – Loved your lyrics! Try to project a little more in your verses, so we can hear every word. Click here with tips to achieve better vocal projection. Dana Ali – Lovely tone to your voice. Was nice to see you smiling through your performance. Love to hear more of you as an artist! Camden Auditions – Feedback for singers

Aishwarya Ramesh – You have a lovely tone! Consider changing your song choice, under pressure big songs are hard to execute. TLC – Nice guitar work! Sweet tone to your vocal but you need to try and get more control. Song has potential but commit to bringing it alive! Click here for the importance of vocal dynamics. Crawford Mack – Lovely chilled vibe. You have a very distinctive voice which makes you unique as an artist. Good impact from the start, sounded sweet and you conveyed the story well. Marina Simioni - Strong vocals! We loved your use of beat box, and your soulful vocals. Look to commit more to the performance so we feel every emotion in the lyrics. Ranch Patel – You have a nice tuneful vocal. Look to work on your projection vocally and your originality as an artist to enhance your performance. Ranu Sharma – We would love to hear more of you as an artist! Consider performing a creative cover. Click here for performing a creative cover as a singer. You seemed very nervous, performing a big song is likely to increase these nerves. Look at choosing a song that you can bring your own spin to. Angelo Vitiello – Good reggae vibe! You have good vocal control and projection. Decent song but commit to bringing it alive! Laura Muccini – You have a nice voice. Need to watch your diction, your accent is coming through very strongly. Click here for tips to improve diction. A good singing teacher will be able to assist you to be even better. Don’t sacrifice control for projection.

Camden Auditions – Singing Feedback

Kayla Jordan – You have very sweet and clean vocals! You really connected to the song which is very important. Maddie West – You have a beautiful voice and chose a great song to perform. This song worked really well with your voice. Click here for the importance of the right audition song. Just watch your tempo and be careful not to speed up throughout the song. Use the tempo to drive the song more. Think about using dynamics to create more impact to your performance. Coral Lawrence – You have a lovely voice and you did very well despite choosing such a tough song to perform. It is important for you to connect to the song emotionally and if you are nervous it can be difficult to portray that. Click here for the importance of the right audition song. Maya Lakhami – You performed very well. The introduction of the song was well structured. Try to drive the dynamics more to push through the hook. Elizabeth Garstin – You have lovely vocals and tone. Your CD was very low in volume so always make sure it is the best possible quality. Click here for the importance of a good quality backing music. Tim Winstone – You performed well with good confidence. Lyrically your song was very solid and well written, however it was written in a key that best suited the sweeter tone in your vocals. Rob Hodkinson – Your performance was very good. You have a great vocal tone and you performed confidently. Lee Sullivan – Try to practise performing as much as you can to really build your confidence. You have really great vocals and a lot of potential so make sure to keep performing to try to be confident on stage, so you don’t need the comfort of a lyric sheet. Bee Bakare - You have a great voice! Your vocal range and tone are impressive. Click here for the importance of singing dynamics and what it brings to your performance. Just look to commit even more to the emotion in the song, it feels you are not fully committing to immerse yourself fully into the emotion in the song and thus you don’t reflect it to your audience.
