CAMDEN SINGING AUDITIONS
Talented singers and songwriters impressed industry judges this weekend at the Camden singing auditions
Camden Singing Auditions: Dingwalls in Camden, played host to Open Mic UK's Camden singing auditions last weekend, where singers and songwriters came from London and its surrounding areas in an attempt to gain a place in the Open Mic UK Regional Finals!
Music industry judges are at every stage of the music competition from the auditions to the Grand Final, including judges that work for the three major record labels (Universal, Warner and Sony) in attendance at last year’s competition, as well as national radio DJs, regional press and BBC Introducing, with judges getting more prestigious as the competition progresses.
Camden Singing Auditions: See industry feedback below. Please be aware views expressed by judges are opinions and subjective to that particular judging panel. These views in no way reflect the views of the Open Mic UK competition, and are published with a view to being beneficial to the performing acts.
Camden Singing Auditions - Singing Feedback
Zac Pile – Liked that you brought in a musician to give it a live feel. You have a super tone and good presence. Look to give us even more expression click here for more on the importance of singing with facial expressions as a singer.
Ronnie Hicks – Wow! So much confidence for a youngster, perhaps need to perform as much as you can to build your confidence even more. Look to work on projection and timing with a vocal coach to be even better, click here for tips on vocal projection and tips on finding a singing teacher.
Jasmine Regan – Liked that you used your mannerisms well to portrait the emotion in the song. Body language and expression is so important to give extra emotion and feel to the song. Bit of nerves but that's to be expected, click here for more on dealing with nerves.
Rosie Trentham – Your piano playing was very elegant and you made the song your own, click here for more on performing a creative cover and the importance of being original. Make sure you use your eyes to reach out and connect with your audience, click here for the importance of eye contact.
Danny Corbo – Good tone and the song suited you well, click here for the importance of song choices. Try and use your body language to help the performance and express the emotion in the song.
Amy Harriet – Super projection and commitment, love to hear you do a creative cover and show us more of you as an individual original artist, click here for more on performing a creative cover.
Evie B – Great to hear you doing and having the confidence to do an original. Suggest looking to work the dynamics so it drives through the hook more and also click here for more on ideas on writing that killer song chorus.

Aaron Kark – Try not to look too serious use your eye contact and expression in your face to convey the emotion in the song. Click here for more on the importance of singing with facial expressions as a singer and click here for more on the importance of eye contact.
Taliah Hammell – Take care with your song choice, picking such an iconic song can set you up for failure either pick something a little leftfield or perform a creative cover, click here for more on the importance of song choices.
Kevin Fernandez-Montoya – A committed performance and decent song, look to work the dynamics even more to drive through that chorus, click here for more on vocal dynamics. Look to use your eye contact to connect to your audience being the judges in this case.
Shehana Siriwardena – Watch your tuning you are forcing the vocal and losing your pitch. Song choice is very importance and look to pick a song you are more comfortable with under pressure, click here for the importance of song choices.
Lizzie Malessy – This is a cute song and you conveyed it with the sensitivity the song deserved. Good eye contact and expression click here for the importance of singing with facial expressions as a singer.
Kirsty Smith – Look to work on your projection as you are quiet and you need to be able to belt it out more click here for more on vocal projection. Your performance would also benefit more from varying the dynamics click here for more on bringing more ways and ideas for vocal dynamics to the performance.
Emma Finnen – Would have looked to have given more movement to the performance, conveying emotion is as much with your body and expression, click here for more on the importance of singing with facial expressions as a singer.
Ryan Slaiper – Liked that you gave it your own style to make it original, click here for more on performing a creative cover, more importantly consider writing your own songs, click here on some tips to get songwriting.
Dea Emini – Your song is punchy and different, good structure but in places the lyrics could so with a re-work to flow even better. Vocally, you had a nice tone but needed to go up a gear to really make this song go to another level, also take care with your pitch, click here for more on vocal exercises.
Elliott Millman – Guitar work was nice on the ear and you lead the vocal well. Performance wise- you need to reach out and connect to your audience, click here for the importance of eye contact for a singer. Good dynamics, building towards the end; look to bring even more dynamic range, click here for more on advice on adding even more vocal dynamics.
Copper Viper – Intricate guitar and banjo work gained the interest from the start. You have a nice folky and earthly sound, would never hurt to consider adding more dynamic range to really drive through the hooks of the song click here for more on adding vocal dynamics to your performance. A good connection between you but look to engage your audience more to draw us into your performance.
Sasha Johst – Look to drive through the chorus and hook with working the dynamics, click here for more on the importance of vocal dynamics. Look to work on your projection and vocal range to be even better and have more in the tank to commit to the performance, click here for more on vocal projection.
Dominique Bacheven- Keep the audition simple and learn the lyrics; as much preparation you can do the better. Also consider working with a vocal coach to improve the tone and projection of your vocal, click here for more on vocal projection and finding a singing teacher.
