Essex Music Auditions – Judge’s Feedback
Thomas Newman Clark – Dressed for the part, click here for the importance of act image and synchronisation. Vocally you have a good depth to your vocal. The only problem with doing a Michael Buble cover and dressing like him is that it is bordering on karaoke, click here for some advice on performing a creative cover. Also don’t forget the importance of bringing moves to your performance too. Good presentation with a lovely controlled tone. However remember to keep your eyes open! Working on your vocal range would help your performance.
Annabel Hards – Liked the song choice, click here for the importance of song choice. Perhaps look to work with a good vocal coach to help work on your breathing technique and also for sustaining notes. Click here for the importance of singing lessons. Really nice tone to your voice and good confidence.
Lauren Roberts – A vocal coach could really look to extend that range and power for you to be even better, click here for the importance of singing lessons. An Adele cover is also extremely touch and to be able to even match her live is always a big ask, click here for the importance of song choice. You’ve got a good voice, but look at singing lessons to help you strengthen your vocal. Smile and enjoy it!
Ellie Gower – You came across nervous, try to bring more confidence to your audition, this can be improved with more performance experience, click here for building stage confidence. You’ve got a nice voice, just need a little more work and confidence to help your improve.
Ellie Zaccheo - Nice rasp to your vocal and lots of potential. Don’t be frightened to really let that vocal go as it sounds like you have the ability to be very good. Good use of hands in expressing yourself click here for more on the singing with facial expressions in your performance. You gave such a believable performance! Nice to see such a natural performer.
Finley Crussell – Really unusual vocal, just need to keep control of the nerves which more performance will help to build the confidence. Never stop either, always just belt through as chances are we would never notice the error. Feyishola Adenrele - Song choice is so important and singing an iconic song by an iconic singer is always going to put you under pressure from the start, click here for the importance of song choice. Having said that you did a really good job, just take care to keep the tempo and sustaining the notes. Good eye contact which help us to connect with you. Very believable and cool performance. Strong voice, you’ve got the potential to go far in this competition.

Ellie Grace – Look to select songs that really give an impact straight away so we can get the best parts of your voice instantly, click here for the importance of song choice. Hopefully the more you perform the more consistent you will become as you have the ability and talent to be very good. Never stop or pause when performing always just keep going. So much potential here! Nice, sweet and delicate voice with some strong moments. Great confidence in your audition.
Brooke Richardson - Song choice is so important and singing an iconic song by an iconic singer is always going to put you under pressure from the start. Having said that you did a really good job but going forward try and select a song we haven’t heard hundreds of times to help you stand out. Courtney Donnelly – Good use of your hands to interpret the emotion in the song click here for mores on singing with emotion during your performance. Also consider being a bit more original with the cover, click here for advice on performing a creative cover. Very natural and strong voice. So much confidence and potential in this performance. Nice controlled performance.
Katie Smith – Good connection to the song which is good and never too bad an idea to sing a male original song as a cover however it is a very popular song choice, click here for more on the importance of song choice. You’ve got a quality voice. Grew into the performance as it went on. Work on getting full control of the song. Believe in yourself because you have so much potential..
Klaudia Otoka - Song choice is so important and singing an iconic song by an iconic singer is always going to put you under pressure from the start. Having said that you did a really good job, just take care to keep the tempo and sustaining the notes. Good eye contact which help us to connect with you. Click here for more on diction for singers as each word needs to be heard clearly. A confident and strong singers. Very memorable as an audition. Sang the song well, just watch the control of your voice at times.
Sam Holloway – It would assist you greatly to work with a vocal coach to be even better; going forward developing your projection and tone is key, click here for the importance of singing lessons. Voice needs to be stronger. Great interaction with your audience, however keep your eyes open to increase the connection. Nice song choice.
Georgia Lardner – Distinctive and an instant impression. Click here for more on performing with music keyboards and in particular singing with facial expressions. Lovely strong voice and very talented. Lots of potential, just need to bring the confidence to match it. Make sure you interact with the audience. Vocal tone was good, lovely playing.

Alex Dewsall – You have nice control but perhaps need to look to expand your range and projection to stand out more. Grace Hadleigh – Nice jazzy and sultry flow to your performance. Try and work on your facial expression to convey the emotion in the song even more, click here for singing with facial expressions. Liked the cover version you picked, to make it a bit different from the original, click here for performing a creative cover. Great tone. Just make sure to interact with your audience and bring them into your confidence.
Thomas Garry – Good power and rasp to your vocal. Just make sure you use dynamics to really drive through a clear hook and chorus click here for more on singing dynamics. Strong performance with great energy. Lovely huskiness to your voice, there is a touch of Elvis in it. Good song choice, great impact.
Janey Lavendge – It’s good to select a song you connect with but it is a little dated so either look to do a modern twist on the song or select a song a little more modern. You have a good tone you just need to keep your focus. Pretty voice and tone, however it needs more work. Keep your eyes open. Don’t let your nerves get the better of you, you have great potential.
Daniel Fotheringham – Nice tone and control. Need to look to be more original to stand out, click here for more on performing a creative cover. A good vocal coach will also be able to develop your projection to be even better, click here for more on how to achieve better vocal projection. Good performance, which a good song choice. Lovely strong tone. Try to be more confident in your performance.
Bunny Tan – Loved the guitar playing, was so smooth and helped us really buy into your performance. Good connection to your song choice also. Just try and use your eyes more to connect to us the audience. Lovely song, ironic as you closed your eyes a lot but it was really pleasant. Need to interact better with the audience, perhaps open those eyes. Good to see a strong performance, you really seemed to get into it.
Hannah Harris – Need a bit more confidence which more performance will assist you in building that. Vocally you have a nice tone but you need to look to increase your range and projection which a good vocal coach will help you to develop to be even better, click here for the importance of singing lessons. Nice performance with a good vocal but the song choice didn’t seem right on this occasion, click here for the importance of song choice. Would love to hear some original material from you.
Martin Matcham – Would never recommend playing to a backing track it tends to lose the live feel, plus it’s extremely difficult to play perfectly in time. Love the guitar! Click here for the importance of act image and synchronisation and if you’re going for a retro vibe you need to bring that with the image. Strong, confident and well presented. It felt like I was in Nashville watching a performance – you nailed this style of music.
Nijole – You’ve picked a massive track to sing and you need to really warm up fully or pick a more realistic song. Alternatively work on your range and projection with a good vocal coach. Click here also for more on performing a creative cover.
Leanne Pharoah – Like the idea of performing with a guitarist, gives a good live feel. Vocally you have a really interesting tone and great control. Performance wise more eye contact with your audience and with each other, reach out as performers. Strong voice but could be more confident. This was a good song choice, but it would be interesting to hear some original material. Just keep believing in yourself as you have great potential.
