Under 16's Feeback - Essex Music Opportunities

Ahreen- Look to get that microphone as close to your mouth as possible as it’s effecting your projection. You have nice tone but need to work on strengthening your vocal so work hard every day, click here for more on picking the right singing teacher. for you. Also consider varying the dynamics to keep it interesting throughout click here for more on adding dynamics and look to use the stage more, click here for more on performing on stage as a singer.

Alfie Arger-You used your hands well to convey the emotion of the song but take care to keep close to the mic so you don’t lose your projection, click here for more on microphone technique. Glad you took the microphone off the stand and worked the stage. Look to commit even more to the performance to impose your presence. Take care with your breathing so you have space to attack the lyrics and perform throughout, especially during the instrumental sections. You would also benefit from practising your rapping so that you keep your accent consistent.

Jess- Try to be aware of the lighting on stage so come to the front of the stage to connect even more with your audience. Dynamics is something you could work on, use vocal dynamics to really drive through the big chorus; so less before the chorus to add emphasis when you reach the chorus. You grew as the performance went on and sustained the notes well at times to give impact to the performance. Going forward, consider doing a creative cover to show us who you are as an individual and try and select songs that aren’t too dated, click here for more on the importance of song choice.

Thomas Webber - Doing acapella has its place click here for advice on when to perform acapella or not, and the things to consider. Krish Singh- It was a very nervy performance and that showed, click here for some tips on dealing with nerves. You have potential so look to perform as much as you can to build the confidence and build on your stage presence. Also consider song choice you picked an iconic song by an iconic singer and it’s always hard to impress when we are so used to the standard they set. Your high notes are much stronger so choose songs which flaunt this.

Laila- Remember to perform from the start, as soon as you hit the stage use the opportunity to connect us to you as a performer. Look to use the stage more, click here for more on performing on stage as a singer. Also consider adding more expression so click here for more on singing with facial expressions.

Kiara Vaughan - Nice song choice, gave you room to give interpretation whilst showing off your vocal click here for more on the importance of song choice. Song gives you natural dynamics which you need to commit to more. Also look to use that stage more to connect even more to your audience click here for more on performing on stage as a singer. Remember to keep focused on your timing throughout.

Leah Robbins- A strong performance which would have been even better if you used the stage a bit more. Your expression of the emotion was well acted. Remember to embrace the positivity of the song and not just the pain to give more of a dynamic performance. Also consider adding your own style to a cover to show us more of you as an individual click here for more on performing a creative cover

Jamie-Lee Johnson- It was a very nervy performance and that showed click here with some tips on dealing with nerves. You have potential so look to perform as much as you can to build the confidence and build on your stage presence. Look to commit more to the performance, click here for more on performing on stage as a singer. Misha Bennett- You have the moves just commit even more to them, need to give them a bit more snap to be sharper. Look to perform as much as you can to build the confidence to be even better. Also look to consider playing around with the cover to make it your own click here for tips on performing a creative cover. Try to use that stage more to connect even more to your audience click here for more on performing on stage as a singer. You have lovely tone and good projection.

Sean Lomas- Look to add in more dynamics to drive that chorus through click here for adding guitar dynamicsTry and not hide behind the guitar, you can move and express the emotion in the song even more. Song has potential but perform as much as you can to develop and work out the best delivery and attack. Great that you performed an original, maybe consider changing the chords for the chorus?

Ella Hudson- Good song choice it suited your vocal well and you connected well with the song. It was a nice rendition of the song. You have a good range and added dynamics to the song seamlessly, click here for the importance of vocal dynamics. Look to give us more expression in the face click here for more on the importance of singing with facial expressions.

Roma- Liked you’d really worked on considering image click here for the importance of singer's imageAlso consider song choice you picked an iconic song by an iconic singer and always hard to impress when we are so used to the standard they set. It is a difficult song to sing but had great projection and control. You brought good dynamics to build the performance to give a climatic finish. Good presence on the stage. Could add more emotion to the vocals to enhance this, click here for more on how to sing with emotion.

Tay Arden- Very unique and great song cover. Ukulele has its place but can come across a little thin and one dimensional as a backing instrument. Look to perform as much as you can so you can feel comfortable giving us more eye contact and connecting to your audience click here for more on the importance of eye contact as a singer. Consider standing when performing so you can give more movement to the performance.

16-20's Feeback - Essex Music Opportunities

Lucy - You have lots of ability with a powerful vocal. To be even better look to perform as much as you can to build the confidence and build on your stage presence. Also consider song choice, you picked an iconic song by an iconic singer and always hard to impress when we are so used to the standard they set, click here for more on the importance of song choice. To show originality at its best consider writing your own songs.

Luccia - Super vocal control, look to commit and be even more animated in the performance. As with anything operatic and theatrical you are acting a part, so demonstrating your originality is difficult, click here for more on performing a creative cover. Look to show us more of you.

Polly Bibby - Lovely natural vibrato and tone, you connected well to the song. Look to perform throughout especially in the instrumental sections when you have space to still demonstrate emotion and conveying that within your performance. Vocally you could have considered climbing into the end to finish with a climax, click here for more on adding vocal dynamics as a singer.

Laura - First impressions are everything and you were a long way from the microphone which affected your projection, click here for more microphone technique. It was a very nervy performance and that showed, the more you perform the more our confidence will grow. You have potential so look to perform as much as you can. Look to use the stage, click here for more on performing on stage as a singer. Vocally, practice your breathing and pitch to be even better in delivering more projection and sustaining the notes in particular.

Tilly Brown- You had a super deep warm vocal. You don’t have to be static on stage, look to move and use the stage to connect even more to your audience. Commit even more to the expression, click here for more on performing on stage as a singer

Aaron Norman - It was an engaging and heart felt song with lots of potential. Your guitar could have sounded sweeter so make sure you tune up just before you go on stage. Performance wise there was little expression, so look to add more facial expressions.

Ollie Newman - Need to try and bring the performance alive more, look to use the stage more, click here for more on performing on stage as a singerAlso consider adding more expression, click here for more on the importance of singing with facial expressions. Vocally just remember to focus on your tuning throughout and click here for more on adding vocal dynamics to your performance.

Lia Evans - Remember to perform from the start, you had an opportunity to perform and express from the start which you didn’t and made for a missed opportunity to connect with your audience. The performance grew the longer it went on after a shaky start. You have some really sweet tones to your vocal pallet, but at other times you had slight tuning issues so remember to keep your focus throughout.

Luisa Nicolaou - A song choice you can really climb into! Look to commit even more, it’s a song laying your heart and life on the line and as such should convey that in the commitment. Performance wise far too static look to move around and use the stage to connect us even more to the emotion within the song.

21 and Overs Feeback - Essex Music Opportunities

Noel Cowley - Nice guitar sound and nice flow to the song, need to look to punch through the chorus more to stand out more. Look to add more dynamics to keep the interest going to the end.

Vantage LP - Very similar to a Bristol artist called Twizzy. Liked you thought about every aspect of the performance, like lighting and your preparation was professional. Song wise need to focus on a delivering the chorus to stick in are heads. Remember to keep the focus throughout, it wasn’t noticeable your microphone levels were inconsistent and you highlighted the error of forgetting your words by mentioning it over the mic.

Fiona - A song choice you can really climb into! Look to commit even more, it’s a song laying your heart and life on the line and as such should convey that in the commitment. Performance wise you were  far too static look to move around and use the stage to connect us even more to the emotion within the song.

Julia - Watch your diction, at times it was hard to understand what you said.  Also song choice is massive and you lost control on a number of occasions click here for more on the importance of song choice.  Performance wise, you were far too static look to move around and use the stage to connect us even more to the emotion within the song.

Leanna Pharaoh - Super silky warm vocal, would love to see you perform your own song or a creative cover to show us your individuality, click here for more on performing a creative cover. Try and connect a little more as performers the guitarist was reaching out with us eyes but it wasn’t reciprocated by the singer.

Rachel - Good power and vocal range. Liked you did a jazzy version of the original; you could have considered doing a mash up song perhaps with a song like Lionel Richie's Easy Like Sunday Morning. Performance wise it needed more dynamics to keep the interest going to the end click here for more on adding more vocal dynamics and click here for more on performing on stage as a singer

Justina - Liked the idea of the backing singers, but with the backing track and guitar over the top it lost its live feel. Backing singers were great and you looked great, the guitarist failed to look up and as performers there was NO connection between singers and the guitarist thus meaning the guitarist wasn’t adding anything. Song wise it has potential, but it was a little repetitive and needed more of a catchy hook.

Lauren Rannigan - You have lots of ability with a powerful vocal and to be even better look to perform as much as you can to build the confidence and build on your stage presence. Also consider song choice, you picked an iconic song by an iconic singer and always hard to impress when we are so used to the standard they set, the importance of song choice. To show originality at its best consider writing your own songs or a creative cover to show us your individuality, click here for more on performing a creative cover

Hercules - Try and perform from the start rather than awkwardly standing there. You had an opportunity to perform and express from the start which you didn’t and made for a missed opportunity to connect with your audience. You aren’t performing and therefore you are missing an opportunity to sell yourself as an artist and connect us to the emotion in the song as you have a terrific vocal and moved through the vocal gears seamlessly.

Kelly Everitt - Your hat meant we couldn’t see your eyes and thus you couldn’t give us eye contact. Liked that you made the song your own with a different jazz style version of the original, click here for more on performing a creative cover
