Paige – Your diction was clear but it felt like you needed more projection, click here for tips on projection. A good vocal coach will be able to assist you to make you even better, click here for the importance of voice training. Careful with your breath control, make sure you take enough breath.
Alice Flower –Great range. Sharp vocals but would have been nice to have seen a little more originality and you stamping your own personality on the performance. Channel your vocals to enhance your performance.
Charlotte Meldrum –Very comfortable and confident on stage. Lovely tone to your vocal but could have looked to extend your range and made it more dynamic, click here on ideas to improve your dynamics. Song choice wise wasn’t convinced it suited the sweeter sound of your range, click here for importance of song choice.
Kellie Newport – Good vocally but seemed too much emphasis in belting out the vocal rather than trying to connect emotionally to the song and us to you? Also click here to read more about connecting emotionally to the song. Work on your diction we can get every word you sing during your performance, click here for tips on diction.
Essex singers wanted
Katie Da Silva – Good image/style. Liked that you tried to pick something original, but not sure if showed off everything you have to offer, click here for importance of song choice. Good connection emotionally to the song and you made us pay attention from the start. Look to use that stage more to connect the audience even more, click here for tips on performance.
The Birch Brothers – Always risky to ask the audience to participate from the start, click here for tips on when and how to use the audience. As performers try and connect more with each other to show engagement as your engagement with the audience is good not just with each other; just look across with a glance or smile. Nice to see some personality on the stage.
Hannah B – Song choice was a bit dated and needed a modern twist, click here on more information on how to do a creative cover and click here for importance of song choice. It’s a very passionate song and you needed to commit more emotionally to it. Great potential here. Try and bring more passion to the lower notes!
Henrietta – Great vocal range. Lovely tone and richness to your vocal to give a great dynamic. Going forward look to use the stage more and commit more to the performance, click here for tips on performance. Perhaps start writing your own material...
Isabel Marsh – A very shaky and nervous performance. It was a big song and under pressure maybe a bit ambitious, click here for importance of song choice.
Kayley Buxton – Lovely control would have liked to see you really push yourself more vocally and commit to really belt it out and go up the gears, click here on ideas to improve your dynamics. It was a safe performance without really committing yourself. Keep your eyes open!
Yasmin Samadi – You need to look back at yourself in the filming as you are given very little eye contact if any to start with and your facial expressions are very harsh, click here for tips on facial expression. Also your mic control is ruining a consistency in your projection get closer to the mic and be consistent otherwise as you are making it extremely hard for the sound engineer which will reflect badly on you.
Paige Wilmott – Good shout doing a Jack Bugg cover as not only male but he’s pretty whiney vocally but perhaps this was even more of an opportunity to make it change it even more original? Performance wise very static, click here for tips on performance. Potentially a really good recording voice.
Essex singers wanted
Sophie Heard – Great look. Need to perform more to build confidence to overcome the nerves as they tended to control you. Song choice wise it was a bit too big for you and you started to force it in the end and lose control, click here for importance of song choice.
Danielle Paterson – Good job making the song your own, click here for more advice on performing a creative cover. Performance wise don’t be frightened to use that stage and your body to help us connect even more to you performance.
James Burrage – Superb performance. Potential is there but the song needs more hooks, click here for more tips on song writing. “Make me happy make me sad” line you need to make more of, that’s a decent hook, click here for tips on writing a chorus. There is a star developing inside you!
Charlotte – Great look. You’ve got a natural stage presence. You have bags of potential but this song is very over sung, making it harder for you to stand out, click here for importance of song choice. Vocals were super but it wasn’t original, click here for advice on doing a creative cover. Remember to keep focused throughout.
Yasmin Amirah – A little messy and unconfident start; remember your performance starts the minute you are in the eye line of the audience. Where was the facial expression to convey the emotion of the song, click here for tips on facial expression.
Russ Reed – Great look. Click here for more information on using a loop pedal, which in fairness you did get the backing programmed up and quickly. It was however not as interesting as the backing music could have been. Also click here for more information on asking the audience to participate. Song wise need to work the performance to make the hook work stronger. Work on your diction to improve your performance, click here for tips on diction.
Pia Harmony – Very talented guitarist. Clever lyrics and engaging hooks. You have an image and you need to keep writing as there are potential hits in those hands and in your head.
Jayden – Beautiful voice. Great stage presence. Love the character in your voice. Liked you made the song your own but perhaps could have stretched the vocal about more and taking the song to a higher level, click here on ideas to improve your dynamics.
Lauren Page – Awesome, awesome, awesome. Great performance and a big range. What a connection to the song and what a song! With your next song bring even more of a hook line!
Callum Buchanan – Impressive and enjoyable arrangement. You were distinctive but vocally a little thin in places and you need to have more range and projection to take your performances to another level, click here for tips on projection. Try to be less stiff on stage, click here for tips on performance.
