Olivia Hurdle – Enjoyed your song choice. Good expression and in particular facial expression, click here for tips on facial expression. Take care with your mic control as you were losing projection as a result. Song choice could have allowed you to demonstrate more of your personality,  click here for importance of song choice. Impressive projection at the end but take care not to force the vocal as you did in other parts of the performance, click here for tips on projection.

Lucia Valentino – Great casual look. Felt like you connected well emotionally to the song which you conveyed well in your face. Vocally a bit nervy and you pushed the vocal too hard and lost your control in places. A good vocal coach will be able to help you with vocal control and projection, click here for the importance of voice training. Remember to work that stage, click here for tips on performance.

Amber Kelsi – Make sure you learn the lyrics to your song. Going forward would look to have the mic closer to your mouth to create even more projection. Look to work that stage to create better connection with the audience, click here for tips on performance. Better dynamics would also give a more presentable performance. Did you warm up properly? If not, click here for warming up your vocals.

Issie – Confident performance and great vocal range. A good connection to the song which you conveyed well in your face and expressions. Take care with flicking your hair as it made you lose contact with the mic and thus lose projection, click here for microphone techniques.

Essex stage performance tips

Alice – Need to work on your mic control as when peaking with the high notes you need to pull away slightly with the mic (with control), click here for microphone techniques. Don’t over emphasis when you don’t hit the note, it just brings more attention to the error. Better dynamics would have given a more powerful performance, click here on ideas to improve your dynamics.

Emma – Very confident. Nice vocal control although forced it a little towards the end so could do with adding in more performance going forward, click here for using the stage and click here for tips on facial expression.

Lily Filer – Brave song choice as has such a top end but you did a great job with some lovely tone and control. Commit more to the performance don’t be frightened to use the stage you were very static and use your arms as a tool to convey the passion in the song, click here for tips on performance. Look to change the expression throughout the song to keep the interest going to the end.

Ellie – Song choice really suited your image and style. Good vocally but song choice wasn’t inspiring both dated and popular;  click here for importance of song choice. Take care with your diction as some of phrasing could have been clearer. A good vocal coach will be able to assist you with improving you diction and projection to be even better, click here for the importance of voice training.

Olly Davis – Guitar work came across as more developed than the vocals which you need to look to develop. A good vocal coach will be able to assist you improving your projection to be even better,  click here for the importance of voice training. Also click here for tips on projection.  Take care with your facial expressions as they came across quite harsh at time, click here for tips on facial expression.

Megan Blair – Beautiful voice. You built the song well. Nice use of head voice in the first part and into the chest voice! Super vocal control just need to give more attention to the expression and connecting to us as audience to your performance to an otherwise enjoyable performance, click here for tips on performance

Reecerz.E – Fantastic stage craft. Catchy little number! Great to see an original song from such a young age. Lots of potential here with the song writing, click here for more tips on song writing. Vocally need to develop better control and projection which a good vocal coach will be able to assist you with to be even better, click here for the importance of voice training.

Aimee – Good vocally but it needed more life to the performance so going forward look to commit to the performance more. Even as a guitarist there are still a lot of performance tips you need to introduce, click here for tips on performance. Look at other acoustic guitarist performers like Natalie Shay to see how and what they do.

Jorja Rutherford – Confident on stage. Liked the song choice. Vocally good but you need to work on performing and showing off more personality, click here for tips on performance and click here for tips on facial expression. Smile!

Shannon – Great to see an original song! On a different level vocally, super control and projection. You showed a real connection to the song, which you portrayed well. Being picky but give the same attention to all the notes and not just the high ones.

Essex stage performance tips

Anna – Beautifully sung. Nothing wrong vocally but performance wise it felt flat, click here on ideas to improve your dynamics. Performance wise even as a guitarist there are still a lot of performance tips you need to introduce, click here for tips on performance. Look at other acoustic guitarist performers like Natalie Shay to see how and what they do.

Jessie – Nicely sung. You’ve got a distinctive voice for a singer of your age. Lots of potential with good eye contact and vocal control. Going forward look to use the stage more, click here for tips on using the stage.

Adelaide – Fantastic talent for a 9 year old, but one definitely for the future. Going forward keep working on developing that range and projection with particular attention to your vocal control, this is something a good vocal coach will be able to help you with, click here for the importance of voice training.

Hannah Temperton – You looked like you really enjoyed that. Worked the stage well but commit more to the performance, more performance will build your confidence. Backing track sounded a little thin, click here for information on backing tracks. You would have benefitted from better mic control as you lost a lot of projection by not having the mic close enough to your mouth, click here for microphone techniques.

Grace Eleanor – It’s a shame but the song choice makes you almost uninteresting from the start, we’ve heard it so many times it hurts,  click here for importance of song choice. That aside vocally you were good and diction clear. Going forward look to use that stage even more to give a more committed performance.

Emily Beth – Great to see an individual song cover. Liked you made the song your own, just needed to keep a drive going throughout it seemed to lack drive just when it was required to go up tempo, click here on ideas to improve your dynamics. You can move your feet, click here for tips on performance.

Elise – Always risky to ask the audience to participate, click here for tips on when and how to use the audience. Original was different and really original which with better dynamics you could really get that hook to cut through. Song did get a little repetitive in the end and so perhaps look to add in more lyrics, click here for more tips on song writing. Backing track at times sounded a little thin on vocal parts click here for information on backing tracks.

Daynah Lorelle – You could see you were engaging with the song well. Good use of dynamics and liked you picked up the tempo to really lift the song. Great image. Work on your microphone technique to improve even more, click here for microphone techniques.

Stella – Good to introduce yourself but it had already just been done so perhaps look to adapt and shorten. Was very breathy and a little forced which with more performance will build your confidence and delivery. Key work could have been a little tidier. For next time, try sitting at the keyboard at an angle to the audience, it helps you to connect with the audience.
