Lauren Spencer – Lovely tone to your voice. Even though it’s an audition you can move around and build on the expression. Don’t forget to project your voice.
Katie Smith – Really nervous which came out in the vocals. More performance will build up the confidence each time. Look to work on building the projection of the voice too.
Laura Keane – Good vocals, need to add more expression and performance. Try to not to look around too much, keep your focus over the judges’ heads if it helps. Don’t be afraid to use those arms. Click here for tips on how to perform visually.
Keighley Smith – Lovely dynamic delivery. It’s easy to see the potential here but remember to remain focused; you allowed your nerves to creep in from the beginning of the performance.
Chloe Morgan – Don’t be afraid of getting louder on the chorus. Your voice didn’t seem ready to sing, make sure you warm up your vocal before performing. Click here for tips on warming up your vocals. Be sure to pick a song you’re 100% comfortable with, click here to see the importance of song choice.
Tilly & Heather – Nice performance girls. Talent is there; really work on building on those contrasting harmonies to really layer up the vocals to give greater vocal depth.
Annie Dillon - Remember to engage with your audience and use your eyes. Try and work on greater vocal control which a good vocal coach will be able to assist in making you even better. Click here to see the benefits of a vocal coach.
Cerys Willis – Lovely chocolately tone. Brave audition choice. Make sure you’re comfortable with the song, it felt a little too big for you and you ended up fighting it rather than controlling it vocally. Click here for importance of song choice. Also don’t be frightened to use your hands.
Georgia Presley – Nice contrasting audition. Vocally doing well but commit to conveying the emotion in the song as currently it’s a little flat on that side. Click here for tips on singing with emotion. More performance will improve this massively and filming yourself and looking back at it.
Harmonise – Great team work here, you both have lovely voices. Good connection between you. Probably just a bit too much going on, just concentrate on layering some good harmonise rather than over complicating it.
Suzanne Poole – Excellent diction. Changing the key of the song may have helped your performance transform into a showcase. Don’t forget to use your arms and really express the emotion in the song. Try and look to improve. Click here for tips on how to perform visually.
Eden Farrow – Nice to hear a different version but it is a very popular song so be careful picking popular covers for a number of reasons; one being duplication of the same song in a show. Often the problem with popular songs is that it’s harder to stand out from the crowd. Click here for tips on song choice.
Katelin Troy – Lovely song choice. Lovely smile which is very engaging. You performed well and impressed the judges. Going forward look to make the cover as original as possible, click here on how to perform a creative cover.
Fareham musicians wanted to impress at the Open Mic UK singing competition
Hannah Doswell – Great tone. Good connection to the song which you conveyed nicely. Performance wise try to commit more to the song.
Dylan Willis – Potential is there but focus on flowing. A good vocal coach will help you with tone, dynamics and projection to make you even better. Click here for benefits of singing lessons.
Liberty Kappo – A strong vocal, key going forward is really connecting emotionally to the song and conveying that in your performance. Try to keep your eyes fixed on one spot, you seemed to be looking all over, but that could be nerves.
Denielle Pimlott – Nice power to your voice. Give as much focus to the low notes as you do the high notes to make yourself a bit more consistent. It might have helped your performance if you’d connected to the song a little more, click here to tips on singing with emotion.
Georgia Harris – A nervy performance which more performance will help to build the confidence. You’ve got something here; you just need to attend a few open mic nights to get some more experience. Click here for open mic nights for singers.
Kayleigh Saint – Vocally good but need to pick songs that are not as popular, click here for the importance of song selection. Also look to be as creative as you can with covers, click here for tips on creative covers.
Finn Davidson – Nice guitar, try and engage with your audience more as performance wise was a bit stiff and unemotional. Potential is there and will come just need to work on that as the main area of development.
Chilli – Nice style. You’ve constructed this song nicely. Good potential in the song but need to work the dynamics around the hooks to make them work with greater strength.
Anna Foy – Lovely song. Advanced songwriting, need the performance to catch up, use those eyes and your hands to convey the emotion in the song. Don’t be afraid to make eye contact with the audience.
Shelley McLeod – Need to commit more to the performance, you need to build up your projection and diction, click here for tips on diction. A good vocal coach will be able to help you with both of these, click here for the benefits of singing lessons.
Danielle Kidd – It’s a very big song and it was too big for you, click here for the importance of song choice.
Charlie Woodford – Excellent guitar work. Good projection and strong diction. Good audition!
Zoe Trivett – Watch your breathing and better dynamics will drive through the chorus. Lovely supported tone. Look to get some performance experience, perhaps through open mic nights, click here for open mic nights for singers.
Maisie Downie – More performance required as the nerves are coming through in your vocals and more performance will build that confidence and disguise the nerves. You chose a hard song to sing and in this case it seemed like it beat you, click here for importance of song choice.
Freddy Harvey – Potential in the song is there, perhaps needs more chord structure to make it more interesting and a bit more complex. Have more confidence in your vocal, gaining experience with open mic nights could benefit you; click here for open mic night advice.
Calvin Glen – Nice deep rooted emotion around the song and good dynamics. Watch your facial expression as sometimes they come across a bit harsh and not necessarily the emotion in the song. Click here for tips on facial expression.
Fareham musicians wanted to impress at the Open Mic UK singing competition
Cali – You have a very distinctive voice. Loved the expression of emotion in the song. Work on the key work so it allows you to engage and perform more.
Tallulah Tilt – A tough audition song but you sang it really well. Well performed, just look to keep building on the projection and dynamics to be even better.
Darcie Terry – Great that you’re writing at such a young age, keep developing the writing and I'm sure a hit will come. Vocally need to work on confidence and projection. Remember to look at your audience.
Sadie Ashton – Vocally really good, just watch song choice as a very popular song choice in the competition which means a big chance in it being sung by someone else plus difficult to do it better than the original artist when you do it in such a similar way. Click here for importance of song choice and also how to perform a creative cover.
Brandon Lebbie – Nice powerful performance. Thoughtful interpretation. Tidy guitar work. Really excellent vocals.
Tasha Barney – Good vocally but too common a song choice, please select a song you can put your own stamp on and original. Click here for importance of song choice.
Lauren Somerville – Lovely delicate delivery. Nice song choice and potential there but to be even better work on projection and dynamics to bring the song up a level.
Alex Higgins – Nice audition Alex. Great vocals and guitar, it’d be nice to hear a little more projection. A unique song choice which you made your own.
Jenna & Shannon – Start could have been better rehearsed, work on bringing it together as an act image wise and with your engagement together. Look to add in some harmonies to give greater vocal depth. Having said all that, bags of potential here.
S Jay – Lovely control to your tone. Try and act quietly confident, you are very timid when asked questions. Vocally could still look to work on your projection to be even better.
Natasha – Before you’ve even started way too common a song choice; either do it completely different from the original or as good as the original artist which would be ambitious. Click here for importance of song choice. Nice unique tone. Your voice would be perfect for Jazz? Remember to avoid trying to sing with an American accent.
Julia Golebiewska – A brave song choice. Good tone but projection could have been a lot stronger which a good vocal coach could help you with. Click here for benefits of singing lessons.
