Liverpool's Got Talent - Feedback
Bethany Dean – You have a lovely voice, but make sure you take deep breaths before you start so the nerves don’t affect your performance. Take your time and relax into the performance. Your stage confidence will grow the more you perform, but click here for advice on dealing with nerves. Working with a good vocal coach will help you strengthen your voice further, click here for more on the importance of singing lessons.
Sophie - Great performance and nice image. You have a lovely voice, but you need to develop your chest voice to give your vocals more strength and tone, working with a good vocal coach will be able to help you develop this, click here for more on the importance of singing lessons.
Caitlin Davis – A few wobbles in your vocal, but you delivered the emotion of the song so well, we believed every word of the song. Well done for using the whole stage so effectively and bringing so much energy to the performance. You are clearly a brilliant, confident performer.
T'mya Fyffe – Wow! Your voice is so enchanting and totally incredible for your age. You are a star in the making, can’t believe you’re only 8 years old! Absolutely beautiful performance, you should be very proud of yourself.
Charlotte Jones – Cute song, well done for showing off your originality. Your vocals were a little too safe and the song doesn’t allow you to really show off your range and challenge the voice, so try and add a few more dynamics, click here for more on singing dynamics.
Millie-Mae – Absolutely love the outfit! Great song choice, you could tell the song meant a lot to you. Your vocals gave us goosebumps, but it would be nice to see you take the vocal higher in places to add more impact. A brilliantly confident performance though, well done!
Lily – Love your style. You conveyed the emotion of the song brilliantly in your voice, just make sure it comes through in your body language and performance too, click here for more on singing with facial expressions. Try and work on getting a better connection between your chest voice and head voice so we don’t lose though top notes, a good vocal coach will be able to help you develop this, click here for more on the importance of singing lessons.
Georgia – Great stage presence, your performance of the song was great. Your voice was a little shaky at times, but you didn’t let you affect your performance which was great. There is a lot of potential in your voice, but you need to develop your chest voice so you can improve the tone a depth throughout your vocal range. Working with good vocal coach will be able to help you develop this, click here for more on the importance of singing lessons.
Feedback from the Liverpool's Got Talent Show
Daniel Chettoe – Greta song choice and incredibly mature vocals, it’s hard to believe how young you are with a voice like that. Wonderful low notes, keep developing your top notes so you’re not restricted in song choices. Loved the individuality, we’ve not seen anyone else like this in the competition.
Ethan Cross – Awesome performance! Fantastic confidence, you really put a smile on our faces. Great, well-rehearsed performance, just take care not to make it look over rehearsed and too planned on stage, try and relax slightly. You’re bursting with star quality!
ALIVE – Great harmonies, your voice blend so beautifully and you look great as a duo. Just try and connect together with one another within your performance, click here for some tips on duos and groups.
Rossi Walsh-O'Neill –This song is such a big song, but you sang it really well. Brilliant control over your voice and so much power. Well done for making the song your own, click here for more on performing a creative cover. Keep working on your vocals so you can stay connected for those higher notes.
Amber Marsden – You look great and have a very powerful vocal for your age. It did get a little shouty in places, but that is purely a vocal technique issue which can be fixed with good training. It would be nice to see you move around the stage more to add more to the performance, click here for more on stage performance tips for singers.
Kate Wilson – Vocally you are good, but you need to build the strength in your top notes to sing a song like this. Work on connecting your chest voice and head voice with a good vocal coach and you’ll have more options vocally. Great use of the stage, well done.
Daisychain – You have beautiful vocals and a nice tone to the voice, but watch that it doesn’t get too breathy on the low notes, click here for more on breath control exercises. You looked lovely, but not quite sure the image suited the song, click here for more on act image and synchronisation. Also try not to sing with your eyes closed as it makes it hard for your audience to connect to you. Your stage confidence will develop the more you perform.
Jude Hayes – Great voice and vocal range for someone so young. The song was a big gamble, but one that paid off, you smashed it. Have more confidence in yourself and try and look at your audience more as we lose connection on you and the song when you close your eyes, click here for more on singing with facial expressions.
Jasmine Brand – Great power in the notes, you just need to finish off the sound by reducing the nasality. Love the attitude, make sure you don’t lose the attitude when you’re not singing, remember to perform through the instrumental parts too, click here for more on stage performance tips for singers.
Sadie - You have incredible maturity in your voice considering your age. Lovely vocals, but have more confidence in yourself to work the stage, and make use of the space you have to perform. Your stage craft will develop the more you perform, but click here for more on stage performance tips for singers. It was quite a safe song choice and you really need to try and find ways to make cover songs your own to stand out and be different, click here for more on performing a creative cover.
Amy Fullagar – Love the way you used the stage. Good voice, but make sure you don’t lose those low notes, if they get too breathy they loose impact. To take your performance to the next level, work on connecting to the song more through your eyes and facial expressions, click here for more on singing with facial expressions.
Liverpool's Got Talent - Feedback Continued
Isabella – Beautiful guitar playing and a lovely voice. You portrayed the emotion of the song and the story brilliantly in your facial expressions. A few more varied dynamics would have given more impact to the song and made it a little more interesting, click here for more on singing dynamics.
Courtney – You have a lovely tone to your vocal, but try and vary the dynamics and melodic line a little more to keep the audience’s attention and focus, click here for more on singing dynamics. Keep working on your vocals to build more strength and remember to use that stage, you remained quite static, click here for more on stage performance tips for singers.
Jessie Jamieson – Take a deep breath before you start as it will help you control the nerves better. Loved your delivery of the song, your voice is stunning but your control over it slipped sometimes due to the nerves, so don’t let them get the better of you, click here for advice on dealing with nerves.
Amelia Wilkins – After a slightly nervous start you gave a solid and professional performance, click here for advice on dealing with nerves. You have a lovely voice and chose a great song to suit you. Try to work on creating a fuller soft note, it will carry better and allow you to create more impact.
Kayleigh – Great look, loved your style! We could tell how deeply you were connected to the song; however it was often hard to understand the words you were singing, which makes it hard for us to connect with the song. Work on clearing your diction and try to vary the dynamics more, click here for more on diction for singers.
Mel Aspinall – Love the image, you look like a little popstar! Good control over your voice, however the energy of the performance didn’t quite live up to the energy of the song, so try and work on your stage performance a little more, click here for more on stage performance tips for singers.
Sun Moon & Talia – Beautiful voice and a good performance, you connected to the song well and sold it to us. Loved the song, however the melody line stayed too low for too long, we’d have liked to have seen you take it higher to add more variation, click here for more on singing dynamics.
Sharon – You delivered the song beautifully, but keep working on developing your chest voice as it will add depth and quality to the rest of your range. If you’re playing piano, you really need to practise to the point that you don’t need to look down at the keys whilst you are performing so you can look up and connect with your audience, click here for more on performing with music keyboards.
Olivia Grace - You have a lovely rich tone to your voice, but watch your tongue on the top notes as it's getting tight making the sound constricted. Also be careful with your diction in places as a few lyrics got lost, click here for more on diction for singers. A very enchanting performance, but it would be nice to see you improvise around the melody more and take it higher in places, click here for more on singing dynamics.
Sammi Grainger – a very beautiful cover of the song with great eye contact with your audience. If you want to consider minimising your lisp, working on exercising your tongue will aid this. Strengthen your chest voice to build the tone throughout your range and to gain depth in your vocals, a good vocal coach will be able to help you develop this, click here for more on the importance of singing lessons.
Christine Bray – The arm and hand gestures and movements really helped you portray the story of the song well. You are a great performer, but make sure your mic is at the right position so you are not stretching up toward it as it makes singing more difficulty, click here for more on microphone technique for singers.
Race the Horizon – Love the song! Great, lively performance and the harmonies worked well. Good interaction between each other on stage as well as the audience. Just watch that you don’t push the vocal too hard, straining could cause damage to your voice.
Ben Caveen – A very powerful vocal and dramatic performance. Whilst your stage performance was minimal it suited the song well, but click here for tips on singing on stage for singers. It would be nice to see you vary the dynamics more as volume is more impressive when it comes from a softer place, click here for more on singing dynamics.
Luke – You clearly are very confident on stage, but perhaps reign the performance in a little, too much bouncing around can distract from the song. You have a nice voice, but it would be nice to see you take the song higher in places to really show off your range.
Des Pilling – Loved the note order and flow of the song, it was a very believable performance. Try and develop your vibrato more to gain a more “finished” sound; it will also prevent you from going flat on the held notes.
Siobhan McNally – This is a big song and you sung it beautifully, but make sure you come back into your chest voice fully every time you go to the lower notes, otherwise they become too light and breathy.
