The people the Liverpool musicians wanted to impress were Radio City presenter Claire Simonsen, Andy Kettle from CMP Entertainment, singing teacher Su Grainger, singer/songwriter Paul Fitzpatrick and international music examiner Stuart Slater.
Liverpool’s Regional Finals were rounded off by our guest act Daughters of Davis.

Olly Rodwell - You held your nerves to open the show! Lovely tones, sustained phrases were supported. Dynamic shape added character. Now aim for a greater sense of performance and stage presence in a big venue. A solid act. Click here for tips on stage presence.
Christina Shanchez - Great range – brave material choice through the break. Good performance, which would benefit from greater confidence and use of stage. This will come with more experience. Click here for tips on performance.
Eliza – Liked the image, particularly as seated playing the keys. Well considered here - a difficult thing to achieve. Also liked the strings accompaniment which complemented. Not every pitch / interval movement was confident, but can see marketability here.
Anna McKenna – Strong voice and image. You took the opportunity to perform in a venue this size and nailed it vocally. Your next challenge is to build on this foundation and develop more of a ‘performance’ to present your act. This will also help develop your stagecraft, click here for tips on performance.
Liverpool stage performance tips - feedback
Hannah Roberts – Nice interpretation and well done to take on both playing and singing. Not every guitar note was clearly articulated, and there was an underlying tentativeness which did come through. Good promise though and a secure vocal. Would like to see again with more experience, click here for information on open mic nights.
Alex Rose – Immediate audience involvement – good connection here, good material choice, good vocal delivery, attention to image and you sang through a smile. The quality of the backing track wasn’t great, left it sounding a little karaoke.
Bethany and Cameron – Female part showed much potential vocally and commercially. Consider solo or fronting a band? Nothing personal to male part who was comfortable– although watch some intonation slips! Both very talented in your own right.
Amy Chester - Pleasant tone, great use of microphone to add contrast in projected parts, reinforcing strength of held notes. Good attempt to add some performance also. Think about holding the microphone, which will make the stage bigger for you. Not sure the song choice was right it seemed a little loud for you; click here for the importance of song choice.
Jack Dezzo – Highly personalized and confident! Committed and believable. Singer with guitar is a hard market to achieve an edge – great attempt to do so. Loved the attitude and delivery of your performance.
Millie Mae –Mature vocal, liked the original – very catchy, and the backing dancers were nicely choreographed. Inevitably some placements were thin – these techniques will come with further training, and backing could be more produced, but highly promising Millie.
Alex K – Image worked for you to suit your material choice and vocal style, and liked the interpretation. Good song choice. Confident performance. Keep that cheeky smile!
Saffron – Good vocal tone, a little thin in places. Aim for more of a performance and to conceal the nerves, click here for tips on performance. Much promise here.
Lily – For the first time today, I stopped writing and watched. Clear identity, vocally developed, with great projection. Still undecided about the guitar, and keep up the vocal training to remove the imperfections, but for me best so far.
Chloe – Individual tone and diction. Less secure through the break and in head voice. Scope for greater colour and contrast in the dynamics and ornamentation. Accompaniment was great. Clearly considered – would like to see again with more training and experience.
Aaron Edwards – Great attempt to find an edge. Rap worked, and vocals were confident. Need to work on image and stagecraft to go the next level, click here for tips on image. Catchy song!
Rachel Boal – Lovely voice and so much potential! To go through you need to develop a stage presence, confidence to perform and overcome the nerves, click her for tips on stage presence. One to watch. The song choice was good for your voice.
Olivia Atkinson – Fantastic image which suited age and style, but is the material for you? You must stick at it Olivia. You have tried to find a niche, but not sure this is the one. You need to find repertoire which works better. Great potential. The song choice and image didn’t match up.
Olivia Garcia – Composed, dynamic shape, strong vocals, beginnings of performance, including stage movement with mic in hand, click here for tips on performance. Gorgeous vocal.
Lewis Maxwell – Comfortable, secure and clearly musical. Confident performance. To go to the next level you need a commercial edge, more of a package which needs to include attention to image and stylistic identity, click here for tips on image.
Liverpool stage performance tips - feedback
Georgia Mushet – Good potential – work on image and stage presence! You need to work on the wider performance elements of your act, including image and stage presence. Confident performance.
Sophie W – Individual, interesting and captivating. Even though you had a sore throat thought the vocals had an individual tone and character that could be commercially attractive. Less enamored with the guitar rhythms (sorry) – tried a bit too hard there I think…..have you thought about musical support?
Zara – Huge voice, great image, sultry tones. Unfortunately intonation and pitch was inconsistent today. The voice didn’t match up with the backing track.
Antonia – A different act here – full of personality and commitment – well done Antonia. You have a distinctive style which if developed could work for you on a wider scale. Think about how to package this with attention to image and repertoire. Confident performance.
In-Sync – Very well considered, delivered and presented. Your technical ability is an advantage, and the whole act suited the style. (Watch harmony blending, and not quite exactly on point in all places, but very good indeed. Great performance.
Livvy K - Great image, performance and vocally confident. Body language painted the words. Scope for more stage craft though – try to develop this, but impressive overall, click here for tips on performance. Commercial potential here for sure. A really polished act.
Tabitha Jade – Musically very good – really enjoyed the guitar work. Great vocals and performance. Well done. Connected well with the audience.
Katie Hammond – Fantastic. One of the most confident and polished performances of the afternoon. Could’ve easily been the guest act.
