London Talent Competition – Feedback

Rachael Simone- Remember you make a first impression as soon as you come on to the stage. You have a good tone and a powerful voice but look to develop your diction and projection click here for more on projection. Click here for more on diction for singers

Jahna Lucero – You picked a perfect song for you such an emotional song. Commit even more to the change up. With the right guidance you could be awesome. Your styling is strong and you move well. Good mash up worked well click here for more on mash up songs.

Evan James – This young man could connect emotionally to the yellow pages, bang on with your expression and sentiment of delivery.  Shame you didn’t work on changing the cover to be more original. Click here for more on performing a creative cover.. Vocally just take not to drop the note and sustain a fraction longer.

Thomas Newman Clark – You always commit fully to the performance. Would love to hear you performing your own songs soon and see you then go to the next level. Click here for more on writing lyrics and getting started, start with changing around the words and phrasing to some of your favourite performance songs.

Erin Lecount – You have bags of ability and plenty of time to develop. Guitar work needs a little development to give more movement in the chord structure and help the performance flow that little more. Click here for more tips on singing with facial expressions to be even better. Very strong vocal and solid melodic ideas, keep writing.

Ellie Zaccheo – Good vocal control and rasp combined with a great sultry look but don’t forget to embrace the lighter, optimism in the song too. Click here for tips on performing on stage for singers as need to use that stage more.

Lauren – A wonderful song that you selected and it felt you connected really well emotionally. You expressed the optimism in the song as well as the emotional pain great performance.

Sam Bushell – Improved immensely, this is the best performance we’ve seen you produce in the competition. Song was catchy and engaging. You dressed very appropriately. Click here for tips on how to write that killer song chorus.

Safiyah – Brave start which made a good first impression. Vocally need to commit more to the words and look to develop that projection which, a good vocal coach will be able to assist you with to be even better. Click here for more on the importance of singing lessons

Anya – Lyrically this song is excellent but your delivery and dynamics aren’t getting the most out of this song to present it to its best potential. Let it breathe and build to the hook drop.

London Talent Competition

Daisy Jackaman – You have a strong, clear vocal and loved the jazz version you selected. You need to however look to develop your performance which was limited, work the stage and give us more movement. Click here for tips on performing on stage for singers.

Vanessa Silva-Costa – You recovered from a shaky start, click here for more on coping with the nerves.  The song gave you good movement to use that stage so look to perform with more purpose.  Click here for more on microphone technique for singers as you withdrew from being close to the mic too often.

Mya Boyd – You have bags of ability but the performance would have benefitted from better guitar dynamics to vary and structure the performance even more. Performance wise you need to give more movement and be more animated to convey more emotion. Click here for tips on performing on stage for singers.

Jacklyn Pandolfo – Vocally you are very strong but the performance needs developing it felt liked you needed to commit more to it. Mackenzie Burke – Unfortunately this was the fourth Adele song this show and it’s best to steer away from both such a popular song and such an iconic singer, click here for the importance of song choice. Vocally you have a nice tone but you pushed the vocal too hard and lost control on occasions. A good vocal coach will be able easily be able to assist you to be even better.

Milly Austen – Overall a very good performance, you have a lovely tone and great vocal control. Be sure to use the best backing track possible so that it doesn’t distract from your vocal talent and performing ability.

London Talent Competition Feedback

Guinevere Newton – Great leftfield song choice. Need to portray the emotion in the song with expression and eye contact and you need to work hard to develop these areas to be even better. Click here for more on performing with music keysboards. Vocally you have loads of power in your projection and a distinct unique rasp. Love to hear you performing your own songs. Click here for more on writing lyrics and getting started

Federica – Look to perform as much as much as you can to build up the confidence, click here for the importance of Open Mic nights and what benefits they can give to your performance development. You bags of potential so you need to work hard to force your development. Give as much attention to every note rather than slide or flit over some of them.

Beth Hedges – Song was a really good one, a really good article for you to read is guitar dynamics Click here for help with adding guitar dynamics. This will really help you drive through the hook and vary the performance to keep the interest going throughout. You need to also look to develop more facial expression, click here for more on singing with facial expressions.

Holly Humphreys – This is the fifth Adele today and it’s best to steer away from both such a popular song and such an iconic singer, click here for the importance of song choice. Vocally you have loads of power, big range and great commitment but there was strain to your vocal, we need to get that booming vocal to it’s potential.

In cahoot we trust – Little lacking in unity on stage look to connect on stage as performers. Guitar work was tidy as was the beatboxing at the end. Click her for tips for music duos and groups. Great original song, try to remember to convey that you are enjoying yourselves to the audience throughout your performance.

Ellie Jane – Some great lyrics, need to make more of the “I'm crying out to someone” line as your hook as you don’t make enough of it. Don’t forget to reach out to your guitarist to show connection as performers, click her for tips for music duos and groups.

Michaela - Lovely use of stage, good eye contact and a confident performance. Need to now look to push yourself to be more original and find your own song, click here for more on performing a creative cover. Great personality which shone throughout your performance.

Georgia – This is how a mash up should be! songs flowing seamlessly at times rather than being slabbed together. You have a lovely tone to your voice. Performance wise just commit more to be more animated and more expression. Click here for more on performing with music keysboards and click here for more on singing with facial expressions.

Kliqus – Great beat and a good vibe. You picked a great backing track to rap over. Look to work on that vocal hook to give it a signature. Give more projection to your hook lines so they stand out even more. Great stage presence.

London Talent Competition – Feedback

Jose Otero – Brave song choice and a part from coming in slightly early you did a good job. It needed more projection for more projection and impact get closer to the microphone, click here for more on microphone technique for singers.  Also consider really changing a cover to make it your own, click here for more on performing a creative cover.

Stacey Phipps – Great story teller and you raised the bar on both the songwriting and performance. Loved the lyrics , great commitment and on a different level tonight.

Kcee- Liked that you brought in an acoustic guitar to give it a real live feel. Performance wise try and commit even more and, click here for more on singing with facial expressions in a performance. You need to be more animated and give us more movement on stage. As performers try and reach out to each other during the performance with a little glance or two to show a connection in performing together.

Mario – The standard of the show is so high that it was difficult for you to stand out. It needed to be an extremely catchy song, insane vocal or the like. For help on standing out a bit more, click here for more guitar dynamics. Look to develop your projection and range to be vocally even better.

Robbie Stratford – Good dynamics and in particular the turn of the tempo and projection to drive the vocal. The song was catchy and engaging, demonstrating a real talent as a songwriter. Great emotive performance.

Charlie Blaize – Great start to the song sounded like Mr C from the Shamen “Ebbanizergood” but it led to a weak chorus which was too simplistic and over used. For the song to have single potential change the chorus. You are a better rapper than vocalist, look to work with a vocal coach to strengthen the vocal to be even better. Click here for tips on audience patricipation.

Kookie – A different performance of acting out the song. Liked the idea and the delivery. Great song and well conveyed!

Luke Buck – Strong emotive song which was easy on the ear. Just look at what you are doing with your expression and decide whether you are on point, click here for more on singing with facial expressions.  Vocally don’t push the vocal and lose control as you bordered on towards the latter part of the performance.
