Nottingham's Got Talent - Feedback
Kira Finlay – Well done for going first, it’s never easy. You have a good voice and great eye contact with your audience, however the song would benefit from more dynamics as it develops, click here for more on singing dynamics. Also try and work on your mic technique, click here for more on microphone technique for singers.
Abbie Farr – You have a lovely tone to your vocal and that helps you stand out from the crowd. Be confident in yourself and don’t hide behind the mic, keep on performing throughout the whole performance. Your stage confidence will grow the more you perform, but click here for advice on dealing with nerves.
Sadie – Good image, nice vocal tone, clear diction and delivery. It is a big song, so the thing to remember is to try and make the song your own, click here for more on performing a creative cover. Also don’t stop if you go wrong, just keep on going so you don’t bring attention to it. Would have been nice to see you use more of the stage to really perform instead of swaying, click her for more advice on stage performance tips for singers.
Jennifer Brown – A very confident performance and great image. Strong vocals, you have loads of potential. Keep working on your individuality and originality to make you really stand out from the crowd.
Elle Wright – Great guitar and vocal skills. It was a good song choice as it really suited your vocal tone and range. Cool image too. Keep working hard and try working on your own original songs to take you to the next level.
Zahara – Wow what a great song choice, you gave a great version of the song. Good performance and strong vocals, they are very mature for your age. Just try and work on your mic technique and also your breathing. Click here for more on microphone technique for singers and here for more on breathing exercises for singing.
Tahnee Webster – A very confident performance, however we could hear your nerves in your vocal delivery, so try and relax whilst you sing. Your vocal confidence will grow the more you perform but, click here for advice on dealing with nerves. You have bags of potential but try and focus on the melody more, don’t get lost in lots of vocal runs.
Aimee Smith – Great vocal range and piano skills, can’t believe you’ve only been playing the keys for 4 weeks! A brilliant performance! It was great that you still had good eye contact with your audience and not looking down at the keys whilst you played.
Lizzy Smith – Lovely image, beautiful rendition of the song and strong vocals. You really portrayed your passion in your eyes and the vocal delivery was great with clear diction.
Feedback from the Nottingham's Got Talent Show
Katie – Lovely song choice and strong vocals for your age. Keep working on your performance skills and work out what to do with your hands whilst you perform. Try and connect more with audience through eye contact and your facial expressions, click here for more on singing with facial expressions.
Demmi – Overall a really great and enjoyable performance. You have a good look with nice, clear vocals and good diction. Keep working on making the song your own to really show off your own individuality as an act, click here for more on performing a creative cover.
Kirby – A really good performance with good use of the stage, but try not to impersonate Jessie J’s vocals, try and find your own voice to be more original.
Lucy Evans – Greta song choice, it really suited your range and you sang it really well. Lovely emotional commitment to the performance with good eye contact and connection with your audience. Maybe try and add some hand gestures and a bit more movement in the performance, click here for more on stage performance tips for singers.
Manisha D – Great voice and style. It was an interesting version; however there were a few timing issues so more practise and rehearsals would help you be really on point with your timing. Fabulous dress, you looked amazing!
Charles – You have such a distinctive voice and are so charismatic on stage which is brilliant! Interesting song choice, but you may have been a bit more vocally comfortable in a higher key. A solid, original performance overall though.
Jessica Rhodes – You have a nice voice, but there were a few pitching issues at times. You have good control in the falsetto but would advise vocal coaching to help strengthen your range and vocal confidence, click here for more on the importance of singing lessons.
Sarah Hallam – You have potentially a strong voice, but it is unsupported which is creating some issues, would advise vocal coaching to help you learn how to support your vocals correctly, click here for more on the importance of singing lessons. Good commitment to the song and performance, but remember to use that whole stage, click here for more on stage performance tips for singers.
Laura – Very confident start, you have a great, powerful voice but be careful as to not overcook it too early. Good commitment to the song and strong stage presence. Make sure that you warm up properly prior to your performance to avoid your voice cracking. Click here for more tips on how to warm up your vocals.
Nottingham's Got Talent - Feedback Continued
Fabia Vidas – Nice, relaxed performance with effortless delivery, you have such a rich soul voice. You gave a good emotional performance with good vocal control. Just try not to cling to the mic stand too much, add some hand gestures to add more and boost the performance, click here for more on stage performance tips for singers.
Amy Rose – Fabulous styling, however you were very nervous and that affected the performance sadly. You did well to come back after forgetting the lyrics, but click here for advice on dealing with nerves.
David Howes – Great original song and lovely, smooth vocals. A very well delivered performance, but it would nice to see you standing up to give more movement to the performance.
Katie Negus – An original and captivating performance and great image. Try and experiment more with your vocal colour to add more to the performance, click here for more on singing dynamics. Nice mix of songs, loved the idea of starting sat down and then getting up, it was great to see you had really thought about the performance and you had great stage presence.
Doc Moonshine – The most enjoyable and fun performance of the evening! Fabulous blues voice and good guitar accompaniment. A very entertaining performance, well done.
Austin – You have great song writing skills, the song had good flow and was heartfelt and honest. Nice strong vocals and a confident performance. You portrayed your connection to the song and the emotion well to the audience.
Helen James - Fun song choice. A very confident, accomplished performance. You have great stage presence and are really enjoyable to watch performing. Lovely vocal tone and range. You portrayed the emotion of the song so well to your audience. A very heartfelt and honest performance, well done.
Ruey Blu – You have a lovely, rich tone to your vocal and the song was catchy, however you need to work on your timing. Working with a vocal coach would really help you strengthen and develop your vocals and range, click here for more on the importance of singing lessons.
Masten Gregory – Great song and generally good vocals, but your vocal control needs a bit more development. Try and work on your diction so every word you sing is clear and understandable, click here for more on diction for singers. It is important not to sing with your eyes closed throughout most of the performance too as eye contact is essential to connecting you to the audience.
Armel – Amazing, powerful voice, delivered with so much passion and commitment. You gave us goosebumps!
