Naomi – Lovely personality in your vocal, look to work that stage as a bit too rooted to the spot, click here for tips on performance. Song choice wise a little dated so needed a modern twist. Click here for advice on doing a creative cover. Use more adlibs and vocal licks to give more dynamics to the vocal. Try to move with more purpose on the stage. Great vocals though, so well done.

Megan Kelsey – Good rasp and tone to your vocal. Look to try and connect more as performers to show greater chemistry and a collective effort. Good overall performance. Great stage presence. A little pitchy at points, this is something a good vocal coach can help you with, click here for the importance of voice training.

Milianna Cotterell – Good to see you using that stage, try and address the audience more face on rather than your side. Look to come to the front of the stage to really engage and connect to the audience. Song wise was a big and brave number to pick, click here for importance of song choice. And Click here for advice on doing a creative cover.  You could have benefitted from a little more projection which should come as you develop, click here for ways to improve voice projection.

Elisha Morris – Great to see you perform an original, the song is strong but not sure the song has that killer hook to have an instant connection to the audience,  click here for advice on writing a killer chorus. Also try and write songs that suit the sweeter sounding tones in your vocal, your vocal felt under strain, whether that was down to nerves was a little uncertain. Just be careful with the pitching at times.

Lydia – It felt you connected well with the song but you needed to connect with the audience from the start, click here for tips on engaging with the audience, and the song choice didn’t work for your vocal, click here for importance of song choice. Performance on the stage needs to be more structured and committed. Vocally watch your timing and tuning. A good vocal coach can assist in making you even better as the potential is there. A confident delivery but felt like you did not get into your stride quickly enough.

Jasmine Oakley – Your miles from the mic and this really effected your projection and caused a little feedback as the engineer needed to put the mic up, click here for microphone techniques and click here for ways to improve voice projection. Nicely executed cover to make it your own and you have a lovely tone, but you slipped up a little with your inexperience with the mic. This will all come with experience.

Lashayah – All there but all needs to go up a notch. Keep looking to develop and the more you perform, this will hopefully push you on to the next level. Song was a little too big for you, click here for importance of song choice. Song choice wise was a little dated so needed a modern twist.  Click here for advice on doing a creative cover.  Need some vocal work but for age you will be on the right track.

Emily B – Lovely clean vocals and great diction. Song choice wise difficult to do as well as the original artist and put your own personality on the song, click here for importance of song choice. Great you used the stage but try and connect more emotionally to the story of the song, click here for tips on singing with emotion.

Lana Rose – Need to perform more to the point you can disguise the nerves in your face. Song is decent but not an obvious hit, click here for song writing tips. Look to work the dynamics and have a plan to how you want to deliver the song as it meandered quite a bit with little aim, click here for more information on vocal dynamics. Excited to see how good you will be in 12 months with a bit more attention to the above. You seemed very relaxed with a good look.

Adrianne – Liked you took the mic off the stand and worked the stage. Vocally it was a little shaky in places so with a bit more work you can look to gain greater control. A good vocal coach will be able to assist in bringing you more projection and control. Work to be done on the mic technique, click here for microphone techniques.

South West and Midlands music competition

Chloe-Frances – Before you started it seemed a very obvious song choice, click here for importance of song choice. Click here for advice on doing a creative cover. Having said that you have good vocal ability and did a decent job on a big song. You just need to bring your own originality and personality to your performances going forward. Just take care not to force the vocal and lose control.

Tom Auton – Good impression from the start to get our attention. Great stage presence, and very likeable.  Song has lots of potential and you delivered it well. Concentrate on developing a main vocal hook in the lyrics and you could have a hit on your hands, click here for song writing tips. Great pop song which was well delivered with great presence.

Ellie May Dempsey – Diction was excellent to a very common song choice, click here for importance of song choice. Going forward, you have an excellent vocal but look to develop more character and watch your mic control, click here for microphone techniques. Nice confident performance but pitchy at times.

Annabel – Such a good connection to the song and emotion conveyed, click here for tips on singing with emotion. Felt you were in control and had some more in the tank, liked the breathy moments to make the song your own. Great stage presence with excellent vocals. A cool voice.

Tianna Weir – Lots of potential just take care with the whole of the notes you tend to get a little lazy on sustaining them, click here for tips on voice exercises. Liked the song choice, would have been nice to see you perform and work the stage more but this will come as you gain more experience, click here for tips on performance. A very confident performance which was well delivered.

Jasmin – A mature performance and good use of facial expression, click here for tips on facial expression. Don’t be frightened to use your body and lift your feet and use the rest of your body to perform. Take care not to force the vocal and loose a little control as comes across shouty at times, click here for tips on voice exercises.

Reuben de Maid – A well-rehearsed and composed performance for one of the youngest competitors in the competition. Going forward think about song choices that will assist in bringing out some personality and originality. Click here for advice on doing a creative cover. Don’t force the vocal and lose control, click here for tips on voice exercises. A few vocal issues but that will come with experience but overall well done.

Emma McGrath – Bags of ability and your song writing is strong but it would be even better if you could translate a bit more personality across in the performance. You bring very little facial expression, click here for tips on singing with emotion. A simple but well delivered performance.

Finn Allen – Really pleased you listened to advice after the sound check and didn’t cup the mic however, your mic control could still improve even more; keep that mic steady and close to your mouth, click here for microphone techniques. Vocally you are on one level and would benefit from varying your tones and delivery, click here for more information on vocal dynamics.

Nath Brooks – Liked your composure and you gave the song a really good dynamic. One of the best vocally of the show with some great control and projection sustaining the notes wonderfully. The performance came across very well with lots of passion, click here for tips on singing with emotion. Work on putting on more of a performance, click here for tips on performance.

Sophie Axon – Loved your song choice spot on, a lovely song and not performed too much. The song choice allowed you to give a sensitivity to the emotion in the song. Have confidence to commit even more to the performance let yourself go to the emotion it conveys, click here for tips on singing with emotion. Lovely tone to your voice.

Ryana – Watch your mic control, with better technique you can really get that vocal over to its best, click here for microphone techniques. So much potential but you need more performance. Start to work that performance and stage to connect the song, you and the audience together, click here for tips on performance. You are putting too much emphasis on nailing the high notes.  A few pitchy notes at time.

Aspen – Like you so much more with the guitar, makes for a much more comfortable performance. Song wise it did lack a distinctive vocal hook which is an important ingredient in a potential hit, click here for song writing tips. Liked the dynamics you gave to it vocally showing how much you are improving. Came across very committed to the song. A nice performance.

UnScripted – You can see you guys work really hard and are well drilled. Individual looks complimented each other well. Good delivery and dynamics to build the performance to a climax. Watch your facial expressions, no lazy eyes when performing, click here for tips on facial expression. Great energy, which came across well during the performance. Try to relax at times though as seemed tense during certain parts.

Mae Hill – Take care to not come across as over forced and embrace the lighter lower notes that can give more character and personality, click here for more information on vocal dynamics. Make sure you come to the front of the stage more to connect to the audience. OMG, fantastic performance.

Charlie Pughe – Lovely sentiment to the song and good structure. Work those dynamics a tiny bit more to drive through the chorus hook even more. Bit more facial expression wouldn’t go a miss, click here for tips on facial expression. Lovely rich tone to your vocals. Maybe try to perform a bit better on the stage as a bit static on the keys.

Lauren Flower – Love your smile just lights up the room! Confident overall performance. Good projection to your vocal, just watch your timing. One to watch going forward bags of potential and keep developing could be a future winner. Great image, click here for why image is important as an artist, and overall nice performance.
