Southampton Auditions - Feedback
Charlie Harris – Good song choice for your vocal range! You looked a little nervous, click here for some advice on dealing with nerves. You have great vocal potential, you just need to focus on the performance. Click here for pointers on the importance of performing on stage.
Mattie Elliott – Superb vocals as always, your voice has really matured and become more powerful, however watch your breathing control, which did affect your performance. Elysia Sheridan – You gave a very committed and confident performance. To improve this further have a look at your interaction with your audience and look to work on your eye contact and body movements. Click here for tips on singing with facial expressions and the importance of eye contact.
Elijah Jeffrey – Great performer and a lovely voice. It was a good song choice and you showed good use of your voice range and tone. Be careful not to rush through your performance. Try to perform as much as you can in order to improve confidence. Click here for tips on stage performance tips.
Aiden Shelly – You had a great song choice and have a lovely rasp to your vocals, however you should work on your voice projection which a good vocal coach will be able to help you with. Anya Marsland – You have a lovely tone and great potential! You gave a good performance however look to perform as much as you can to develop you stage craft. Have a think about your song choice and try to select songs that are less well known with a little more originality. Open Mic UK - Feedback
Renee B – It was great to see you perform well with the guitar, however you should try to look up more to engage with the audience and not look at your playing so much. You have a beautiful voice and lots of potential however try to commit even more to the expression of the emotion of the song. Katie Baron – Very theatrical performance however be careful not to limit your ability to be original if performing in character. Vocally you have a lovely pitch and tone but look to work on your vocal dynamics and voice projection to be even better!
Lauren Marshall – It was nice to see you accompanied by a guitar to give the performance more of a live feel. You have a lovely pitch and your singing got stronger throughout the performance. It is important to perform as much as you can in order to develop your stage craft, dynamics and performance expressions. Bella Beney – You have a great voice and it was a good song choice. You should think about dynamics however this grew as the performance progressed. Ideally you need to make an impact from the very start, click here for more on stage performance tips and vocal dynamics.
Jessica Browett – You have a lovely pitch however sounded a little nasal at times. Be careful when choosing the right song for your performance. Performance wise maybe look to film yourself performing and analyse to develop.
Joe Chilcott – Good original song and a strong voice. You have a very engaging playing style and good dynamics which kept the interest of the audience throughout your performance. Southampton Auditions - Singing Feedback
Jade Turton – Lovey voice and tone and personality came across well. Nice backing track however you need to bring more of a performance. If you perform as much as you can will help develop your stage presence. Song wise it would have benefitted from a stronger hook to be more appealing. Nathan Thomas – You have very distinct vocals and good performance. Good funky vibe to the song and you have lots of potential! Looking forward to hearing this on the live stage. Click here for tips on vocal exercises to help develop your voice!
Ruth Marshall – You gave a confident performance however you need to make a stronger first impression. The tempo was slow and you need to have more of an impact from the start. Lily Garland – Great dynamics, powerful vocals and good voice projection. Look to commit even more to the performance to really convey the emotion in the song. Don’t hold back! Charlotte Abbotts - Great pitch, however be careful with originality when performing such a popular song choice. Good performance but look to film yourself in order to analyse and develop. Allegra Ngoulou – Turn up on time for auditions so you do not potentially lose out on future opportunities. You have a nice and distinct voice. Ellie Sheppard – You have such a lovely tone to your vocals and projected your voice really well. It was really nice to see you smiling and enjoying your performance. Molly Poole – You seemed very confident when performing. It was a lovely rendition of the song and it was great that you stepped forward on stage and took control of the performance! Lucy Gillard – You have really great vocals and performed a very powerful song. It’s always going to be hard compared to Adele. Forje – It was great to hear a rap song. Your song had very good lyrical content and backing. It was a very enjoyable song! Lewis Shepperd – You have an amazing range with flawless high notes! This was very impressive. You have a really fun, cheeky personality that really comes across in your performance and smile. This is really positive and helps your audience engage with you. You have a lovely vocal tone but think about making your chorus a little more catchy. Matthew Williams – You have great vocals that worked very well with your song choice. Try to work on your projection, it was quite difficult to hear you over the guitar at times. Ian Appley – You have a really nice raspy tone and vocals, however be careful as you do have some habits that make it sound quite karaoke. Click here for some stage performance tips for singers. Your mashup was very enjoyable and this was a good idea for an audition! Make sure you choose two songs that fit really well together as the songs didn’t seem to flow. Jessica Browett – You have lovely vocals however unfortunately you went slightly out of tune on occasion. Make sure to work on your tuning and vocal range.
