Keeley – A very shaky performance as it seemed the nerves took over unfortunately. The more you perform the more you will build up your confidence to combat the nerves. It also sounded like your guitar was out of tune, always check your strings before a performance.
Emily Izen Row – Lovely key work, but look to express more facially as you are looking down quite a bit and where you can’t move from the spot, it’s even more important that you translate the emotion in your eyes and face. Click here for more information on facial expression.
Alex – The song has good structure but the lyrics are very specific and it may be hard to relate to. Click here for more on songwriting tips. They were very thoughtful lyrics though. Good vocal! Liked that you worked the stage too, click here for more tips on stage performance.
Jade-Joana – The song has potential, it's a great concept for a song, but you need to drive through a vocal hook to make it more catchy. Click here for advice on trying to get that killer chorus. Lily Allen-esque.
Kirsten Evans – Beautiful concept and poetic lyrics. Gorgeous tone in your lower range. Good vocal dynamics, just watch your breathing as you risk losing words or phrasing and if you force the song too hard you will lose control. Look to add more facial expression, click here for more information on facial expression.
Gina – You performed well but it screamed for a changeup, look to work the dynamics better so you have that gear to go somewhere else to change it up. Working with a good vocal coach will also assist you with projection and range to be even better, click here for the importance of voice training.
Nick Tudgey – You are a talented instrumentalist and always entertaining, however still feel you need to be more animated. Give more facial expression rather than concentrating on just the playing, click here for more information on facial expression.
Alisha B – Good image and vocal, click here for the importance of image. Performance wise though, it was way too static. You need to use that stage, click here for stage performance tips and always look to perform till the end.
Yassi V – Nice tone and control of your vibrato. Try and project your personality throughout your performance. The song has potential but look to develop the chorus either with more varied dynamics and or click here for more advice on trying to get that killer chorus.
Abby – Nice tone to your vocal, but it was a very shaky performance as it seemed the nerves took over with you missing a few of the words out, you must perform more to build the confidence to combat the nerves. Take care with song choice as too often acts pick popular iconic songs which are so difficult to impress to anywhere near as good as the original artist or be different with. Click here for the importance of song choice. Remember to use that stage too, click here for more tips on stage performance.
Southern England Talent Competition – Feedback
Lilo’s Wall – Great harmony work. Really enjoyed the performance. You work well together and have a good connection as an act which translates to the audience. Song wise it has potential but it lacked an instant vocal hook click here for advice on how to try and get that killer chorus.
Laura Hicks – Take care with song choice as too often acts pick popular iconic songs which are so difficult to impress to anywhere near as good as the original artist or be different with. Click here for the importance of song choice and click here for tips on making a cover your own. Look to use that stage more, come to the front of the stage and help us connect more with you.
Jess Spink – Lovely tone and rasp to your vocal. Would have stuck to one song and conveyed the emotion of that rather than do a medley. Try and not look down as much and click here for the importance of facial expression.
Twiggy – Good to see you introduce dancers to give more of a visual performance, but click here for advice on dancers as the dancers did feel a little detached from the singer. Song wise it was quite difficult to relate to, but keep writing to get better and better.
Eleisha Milverton – You’ve got a lovely smokey vocal perfect for a bit of jazz and you were backed up superbly on the keys to give a really professional sound. To get to the next level we would like to see you connect to us better by expressing the emotion to the song more. Click here for more information on facial expression.
Tara Flanagan – A natural and emotive performance. You ar a sar in the making. There is lots of potential in this song, and you committed well to the message and performance, well done.
Megan Vienna – Your image and style really work and the song is decent. Concentrate on the guitar playing a little more as it was a little untidy at times. Song wise you definitely have the ability write songs but click here for some advice on getting that killer chorus.
Deina-Joy Parke – Vocally you are strong, but take care with your song choice as too often acts pick popular iconic songs which are so difficult to impress to anywhere near as good as the original artist or be different with. Click here for the importance of song choice and click here for tips on making a cover your own.
Cynosure – A fun performance and the harmonies were tight for an overall entertaining performance. Perhaps you could have looked to get the audience involved, click here for more on audience participation. Lovely connection on stage and a well-polished performance, well done.
Kyle Rossi – A very likeable person and performer on stage, we can really see you personality shine through. However you need to work hard to strengthen your vocal so you have more under the bonnet. Look to work on projection and extending your range to make you even better. Performance wise you are improving. Try bring some raw emotion to the performance to make it more sincere.
Jordan Ravenhill – Gorgeous voice and beautiful tone. Really enjoyed your performance, we just want to see more personality. Take care not to be too hard on the guitar playing. Performance wise need more expression, click here for more information on facial expression
Roads – Good connection between you two, but your vocals didn’t blend so well, you need to sing different parts to make it work better. It was a charming performance though, well done!
