PORTSMOUTH GUILDHALL MUSIC VENUE

Portsmouth Guildhall, located in the heart of the city centre, originally opened in 1890, it was in 1926 that Portsmouth gained the status of a city and the town hall was renamed as the Portsmouth Guildhall. During the World War the live music venue was ruined by incendiary bombs and fires, and was left a shell of its former self. In 1959 the Queen re-opened the Guildhall, and with a capacity of 2,000, it has drawn in huge crowds ever since. Portsmouth Guildhall has seen some of the UK’s most talented artists grace its stage including Biffy Clyro, Newton Faulkner, Motorhead, McFly and Prodigy.

Portsmouth Guildhall welcomes the singing competition Open Mic UK through its doors, giving singers and acts the chance to audition.

Performing at Portsmouth Guildhall will provide an exhilarating experience for Open Mic UK competitors, providing an intimate and exciting environment for the competing acts to show the judges what they have!
