Gecko Club – Antelope
Following their 2017 win, James Neilson and Jack Higgins have formed the successful indie band Gecko Club. Since making their debut in 2018, Gecko Club’s unique and vibrant sound has attracted a loyal following.
‘Antelope’, their first single for 2021, has a trippy back story: “To be honest, Jack had a pretty heavy experience that we wanted to translate into a song. We probably shouldn’t go into too much detail, but it involved a psychedelic substance. It all went wrong for him and at one point all he could see was antelopes staring at him.”

Lottery Winners ft. Sleeper – Bad Things
Indie band The Lottery Winners have come a long way since winning Future Music’s Live & Unsigned in 2010. They’ve supported Tom Jones and McFly on tour and released their debut, self-titled album at the start of 2020.
‘Bad Things’ is the second track released off their upcoming EP, ‘Start Again’, with has been well-received: ‘Bad Things’ is definitely one for your chill playlist, the solemn messages in the song contrast melodically with the hushed mix of male and female vocals. The track is engulfed in daydream pop vibes and doesn’t mess around, as the track kicks off straight into vocals backed up by a cascading, effortless drum beat.”

British singer Esmae released her debut single ‘Oughta Know’ to very positive reviews, drawing comparisons to Lauryn Hill and Aailyah.
‘Oughta Know’ is the lead single from Esmae’s forthcoming 5-track EP, ‘Do Better’. A song based on personal experience, she says: “I really believe there wouldn’t be the same substance to my lyrics if I hadn’t of had the life experiences I’ve had. I really believe that I’m right where I need to be now and I’m excited to see what the future holds”.
