The Shed is an iconic music venue that was established in 1994, it has seen many talented musicians perform within its four walls. The Shed hosts the weekly open mic night, Drinks and Jams. It is one of the venue’s favourite nights so expect a lively atmosphere and a lot of talent.

Leicester’s premier independent live music venue, The Soundhouse hosts an open mic night every Tuesday, plus national and local shows throughout the week.

The open mic is hosted by musician Rhett Barrow and has been running weekly since September 2010. They’ve had an amazing amount of support and have seen some truly incredible acts.

Doors open at 7.30pm , with the open mic starting at 8pm. They also have a feature artist slot from 9.30-10pm, which is on offer to any artist or band that would like to play a longer set.

Dating back to the 17th Century, The Plough at Littlethorpe is home to a weekly open mic night hosted by Cliff Bywater, a singer-songwriter who loves hosting and running open mic nights around the local area.

The first Tuesday of the month is an open mic night whilst the rest of the Tuesdays in the month are relaxed acoustic sessions. A PA system is provided for the open mic night which tends to have a very high standard of musicians but everyone is still welcome. You are allowed three songs for your performance and it’s first come first served, so turn up early.

The acoustic sessions are much more informal, you can simply turn up and play whenever you want.
