For the second month, we’re featuring five of our favourite releases to add to your playlist, including former Open Mic UK and TeenStar artists, including Molly Hocking, Natalie Shay and Ty Lewis.
Featured Artists for November
Molly Hocking – After The Night Before
Winner of The Voice UK 2019 (and guest judge for the first Open Mic UK auditions shows earlier this month) Molly Hocking released her long-awaited debut single, ‘After The Night Before’ to glowing reviews.
Signed to Polydor Records, Molly has been busy writing and collaborating with some of the best producers in the industry, and she recently told House of Solo: “I think ‘After the Night Before’ will relate to everyone. It’s about losing something.
“For me, it was about a short relationship and heartache (surprise, surprise!) but I think it can also be about falling out with a friend or family member. It’s a power ballad – I was inspired by Adele. She’s a great storyteller and I think this song does exactly that and is [a bit] different to the music out there at the moment – hopefully it will set me apart from the rest.
Ty Lewis – Used To Be
19-year-old Ty Lewis is one to watch. We’ve seen him develop as a very talented singer-songwriter since performing at Open Mic UK (he was runner-up in his age category in 2018) and making it to the knockout stages of The Voice 2020.
His debut single ‘Used To Be’ is an emotionally raw and beautiful ballad:
Natalie Shay – Naked
Natalie Shay is a fast-rising star who’s looking to make a mark on the pop music scene with her catchy single ‘Naked’, off of the EP of the same name.
Another Open Mic UK winner, Natalie debuted her brand new video for the track this month, which was filmed on the beautiful dunes of Camber Sands. She told Hollywood Life: “It’s the kind of video I think people should watch twice; The first time, so you can feel the gratification of the ending falling into place. And the second, to see how this pans out with what you now know.”
Cyborgs & Michael Rice – Beggin
TeenStar 2013 runner-up Michael Rice teamed up with Ukrainian duo Cyborgs to release a creative cover of the classic The Four Seasons song from the 60s ‘Beggin’.
The latest version features house vibes, for a great contemporary dance track, which is a new genre for the Eurovision finalist to take on.

Courtney Hadwin – Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
Just in time for the holidays, Courtney Hadwin’s releases her cover of the John Lennon/Yoko Ono Christmas classic. Following Courtney’s successful appearance on America’s Got Talent and being signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco and Arista Records, releasing this single seems especially timely right now aallows the listener to appreciate her stunning, crisp vocal.
“I really wanted to sing this song because it feels like it relates to a lot that’s going on right now and how there’s a lot of healing to do in the new year,” Courtney told Original Rock. “This year has been very hard on everyone, it’s been a time for us all to think about what’s important.”
